HOCKEY BOY ~ ZERO CHILL

1.

I WAS SAT on one of the benches in the lobby of the hammerstrom ice skating rink. I was waiting for my brother to finish his stupid hockey training. I had my sketchbook splayed across my lap and was drawing a hockey player on the ice. Except for I hadn't drawn the face get, due to the fact that I didn't know who it was going to be. I was so focused on my drawing that I didn't even notice my backpack had fallen off the bench and onto the floor, waiting to be stepped on. Then suddenly I was caught off guard by an unfamiliar voice.

"Hey is this yours?" A male voice asked. I looked up at the voice to find a hockey player, holding out my backpack for me to take. He had his brunette hair parted down the middle, blue eyes lit up by the lights all around the rink. He cleared his throat suddenly and I turned red when I realized I was staring.

"Sorry! I zoned out for a second there. Yes that is indeed mine thank you so much" I stood up and apologized quickly.

"It's all good, if I'd have left it there it probably would have gotten stepped on by some skates." He laughed. I smiled and took the backpack from his hands and placed it back on the bench. He was about to walk away when something blurted out of my mouth.

"Can I ask you a question?" I asked. He immediately turned around and raised his eyebrow at me and signaled me to continue.

"Who are you? I mean I've seen like every single boy on this team but I don't recognize your face at all." I said. I didn't mean to come off rude, I hope he know that.

"You probable haven't seen me before because this is actually my first practice with the Hammers. My names Mac its nice to meet you." He answered.

"Oh my gosh! Your the new kid everyone's talking about! What did they call you...." I racked my brain for an answer "Drama queen!" I blurted out. Suddenly he was the one turning red as a tomato. He scratched the back of his neck in an embarrassed sense. I giggled. Suddenly Nico Haas, my brother, came turning the corner. 

"Hey n/n I better head off, I'm meeting a friend somewhere to hang out, you ok staying here for a while?" He asked me in possibly the kindest way possible.

"Sure. I have to help sky anyways serve a few more tables." I answered. I really didn't care if he went to go hang out, but he was my ride home so he better be back.

"Ok, cya later!" He yelled as he walked away.

"Love you!" I screamed after him and right before he turned the corner I could hear him say it back.

"Love you too!" He yelled.

I turned back and realized Mac was still standing there. He had a confused look on his face. Then all the boys came rounding the corner and Mac said the worst possible thing at the worst possible time.

"I didn't know Nico had a girlfriend." He said, totally serious. Unfortunately for him all the boys started laughing and I giggled a little bit. He looked confused on why everybody was laughing.

"Mac.." Bear managed to suppress his laughter. "That's his sister, y/n HAAS" He corrected him. Suddenly it was like all the blood in macs whole body rushed to his face.

"I am so sorry." He says out of total embarrassment. I laugh it off and say its ok. All the rest of the team head out to the exit of the rink and i sit back on the bench and start to pack up my stuff.

"Did you... um.. draw that?" Mac says, pointing at my sketchbook. I lift it up and hand it over to him.

"Yeah, i drew it during your guys practice." I answered.

"This is really good!" I blushed a little at the complement. "But... why is the face and number totally blank?" He asked. It was a good question. 

"I havent decided who its going to be yet." I answered. 

"Y/N!" Sky called from the railing upstairs in the restaurant. "Get your ass up here! I can't serve all these tables myself!" She yelled. I snatched the sketchbook our of Macs hand and shoved it in my backpack and zipped it up. I stood up getting ready to go when Mac blurted something out.

"Can I get your number?" He asked. I turned to him and held out my hand for his phone. He handed it over and I punched in my number along with writing 'y/n (nicos girlfriend)' as my contact name and quickly handed it back and ran up the stairs to go help sky.
