Author's note

The picture of the house is just an idea of what Jalyn's house looks like. Sorry I couldn't find any houses on a hill with a lake but this is kind of close.

Sorry I'm taking so long to update. I swear I'm not doing this on purpose, and I'm not doing it to be mean. I just have a SEVERE case of writers' block.
If there's a scene anyones been thinking about and you'd like to see it in the story, comment it and I'll see what I can do. There's no guarentee that it will be in there, but I'd still love to hear from you guys and see what's going on inside your heads. So feel free to tell me what you like.

And lastly, I would like to give a special thanks to everyone who offered to help me with the nicknames. But I want to give a shoutout to izzywolf12 for all those names you left in the comments. Congratulation, this chapter is dedicated to you.

"Meka?"

"Yeah, it's me." She said as she closed the door shut behind her. She went straight to her bedroom in the back of the small house and found a sweater to wear. After pulling on a white, off the shoulder sweater dress and pink leggings, she headed to the kitchen/living room to where she heard Jez's voice come from.

Jez was resting on the couch, her head laying on one armrest while her feet were on the other, her body stretched out in between. A red book was in her hands, but Jez wasn't really reading it since the television was on just a few feet away on the opposite wall. Jez was one of the few wolves in her pack who went to modern technology as a source of entertainment, rather than running around and hunting. Her excuse? It was a tie between just having finished her nails, or being too cramped up to move.

When Meka walked in, Jez froze and sniffed the air. A smile spread across Meka's lips as her friend looked at her with that look on her face. The look that said, "Oh, no you didn't."

"Oh yes I did." Meka gleefully walked over to the couch Jez was lying on. "Scooch, and I'll tell you about it."

"There's a chair right there." Jez said, pointing to the rickety old rocking chair that look a butt away from collapsing.

"Riiiggghhhttt, no seriously. Move over."

Jez rolled her eyes. "But I just got comfortable. You're small, it'll hold." Jez closed her book and set it down on the table, crossing her arms behind her head and closing her eyes as if to make a point. A wistful-turned-smug smile lifted the corners of her lips.

"I may be small, but I'm sure as hell not light." Meka crawled over Jez, and lay her body between her and the couch back.

"Wha– hey!" Jez exclaimed as she was now on the edge of the couch. "Ugh, I don't understand wolves and their incessive need to touch people." Despite her mumbling, Jez turned her body inwards so that she was facing Meka, and put her head back on the head. "You better be glad your breath doesn't stink."

Meka laughed. "You know you're a wolf too."

"Not as wolfy as you wolf princess."

"I'm not a wolf princess anymore Jez." The smile slipped off Meka's face. "I'm not pack, remember."

"That's right, you're rogue. Which means you have absolutely no relation to me." Jez laughed at the skrewed up look on Meka's face. "Relax, Meks. You're still an alpha, you just need a new pack to rule." Meka shook her head. But Jez continued. "Whatever, so tell me about boy-wonder."

Meka allowed the bad thoughts to drift away to make room for Jalyn. He needed a lot of space, but she was okay with letting him fill up her thoughts. Jez giggled when she saw the cheeky grin split Meka's face and knew she had a lot to say.
