The first day of the sports fest
The game was set and matched and green team loss. Raine sighed as she watched the other team celebrate when she felt a hand on her shoulder
"Hey, we tried our best" June said, her forehead covered with beads of sweat and yet, it sparkled with her beauty
"Yeah, it was a good game but they were just too tall for us" Raine replied with a smile, "They block so well"
June smirked and raised her right hand, asking for a high five. Raine smiled and gave the high five but deep inside she knew that's the closest she'll ever get to held her hand
June has a boyfriend you see. They just got together recently. In fact, they just celebrated their first month anniversary last weekend. Raine was happy for her but she still wished she was the one June celebrated that one month anniversary with
Raine was in her last year of college, so she really wanted to make her last sports festival very memorable. And luck was on her side since she got to be in the same team with her, with June
Raine had always liked her from the moment she saw her play. The first time Raine laid eyes on her was on the day of the sports festival just last year
June was on a different team but she stood out from the rest because she was good not only in volleyball but basketball as well. As Raine watched her play volleyball back then, she secretly wished that both their teams make it to the championships so that she could play against her, but that did not happen.
Flash forward to the present and she's a teammate. Lucky right? Well, not really. Considering the circumstances she was in with June. Being in different courses meant being in different buildings and having different schedules, so this was the only time they could actually spend time together. Then there's the fact that she's graduating this year and June will be staying for another year
Not exactly the definition of lucky

Second day of the sports fest
Raine saw her and was instantly entranced by her beauty. In addition to being a great volleyball player, June also just competed at the school's pageant last month. Although she only got 2nd place, she managed to wow the crowd and the judges with her undeniable dancing skills. She got everyone's attention that day and Raine's heart in a blink of an eye
June was at the bleachers watching the other teams play, so Raine took this opportunity to casually talk to her
"Hey you" Raine greeted with a smile
"Hey!" June smiled sweetly, showing the braces that covered her teeth. It made her look even cuter
They talked for a bit about the teams that their team is up against. Raine had also updated her about their team's wins and losses
"It's okay, we'll catch up!" June said enthusiastically, "and we'll be champions!"
"Of course we will, 'cause you're here and you're amazing!" Raine blurted out, immediately feeling shy afterwards
June looked at her and giggled at the other girl's adorableness, "and I'm playing with you so our team will surely win"
Raine was about to say something when June's friend approached them telling June that her boyfriend was looking for her. Raine took this as a cue to say goodbye and walked away.
June's in a relationship and Raine respects that, still kinda sucks though
As planned, their team played volleyball but lost again, dropping their team out in the semis. They won at basketball by default since the other team failed to huddle their players so their team made it into the semi finals
