Anthony woke up in the morning, his head filled to the brim with anxiety and doubt. He was so lost in thought that he hadn't noticed James walking into the room and sitting down next to him.
"Um... Anthony?"
He jumped a bit and turned his head to the left.
"I've been in here for, like, 10 minutes and you haven't-" he was cut off by Anthony hugging him.
"Are you okay?"
He nodded and James relaxed a bit, hugging him back.
After they finished hugging, Anthony grabbed a couple of pieces of clothing and gave some to James.
"Thanks, I'll go change in the bathroom."
Anthony nodded and closed the door after James left.
He took a second to process what he had been considering that morning, but he pushed it off as just anxiety that was meant to distract him from how excited he was for today.
He took a couple deep breaths before walking over to his bed and changing into the clothes he picked out.
After he finished changing, he walked out to the living room where James was sitting.
"Are you feeling better now?" He asked Anthony, watching as he walked over and fell onto the couch.
"Yeah, kind of." James nodded and put an arm around Anthony's shoulder.
"You know, I was really excited for today but now I'm just tired." Anthony explained.
James looked at him while he thought to himself for a moment.
"We could stay in the apartment for a bit, just relax and when you're ready we go out and do what you were planning for today. How does that sound?"
Anthony rested his head on James' shoulder.
"I'd like that."
They relaxed in the house for a little while, James was drawing, and Anthony was watching as he colored in the sketches. Eventually, they decided to get ready to leave the house around 11:30.
"When we go out can we get something from the coffee place?" James asked, setting his sketchbook down so that he could stretch his arms out.
"Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. After we get that, we're going to go somewhere special."
This piqued James' interest, but he decided to use the tiny bit of self-control that he had and hold back from asking where it was.
"Oh," James rested his arm on Anthony's shoulder once again, "Sounds exciting."
Anthony still had his head resting on James' shoulder, so James set his head on top of Anthony's.
After laying there for a while they decided to get up and get ready to leave. James grabbed Anthony's keys and they got going. Once they were in the car Anthony noticed something,
"Hey, James?" Anthony asked, James looked over at him with curiosity,
"Where's your sketchbook?"
He looked around for a second and sighed.
"I guess I left it on my bed while I was getting my shoes. Whatever, I can just show you the drawing when we get back home. You're going to love it!" Anthony considered turning back to grab it but decided against it.
"I can't wait."
They pulled up to the coffee place and got out of the car, they walked in and saw that Miranda was at the counter.
