Ophidiophobia is a fear of snakes

It affects 22% of the united states population.

The fear of snakes known as ophidiophobia could be mistaken sometimes with herpetophobia, which is technically the fear of reptiles.

People with phidiophobia are specifically afraid of snakes (like i said)

They will be easily startled at a sighy of a snake but often jump, scream, or cry if they see one.

Its like arachnophobia, simply people with mostly avoid places or outdoor activity such as camping or hiking.

Well unlike arachnophobia its less likely they dont get scared by looking at a picture of a snake.

Like arachnophobia, this phobia is thought to be a fear of being bitten by a venomous snake. It could aslo be from a traumatic experiences with snakes like being startled by, being hissed at, or even bitten by one!
