Escaping angry raccoons
It seemed was a surprisingly arduous task, especially if you had no place to run to. Thought Narezza as she ran faster, sprinting in the almost deserted streets of east Rome. After what seemed like an eternity of running she stopped to find that those raccoons weren't following her anymore... In fact, they seemed to be running away from her.
Confused she looked around her to spot anything which could cause a reaction like that... But sure enough it was just her next to what seemed like a finely built romus Latin term for places people lived in.
She had always wondered how that would have been -living in a place for as long as you preferred- it seemed like a dream
She had been alone for as long as she could remember but that didn't change the fact that she was 7...
It was starting to get dark and she had to leave but just as she was about to walk away a little figure walked out of the romus she knew she had to leave but it was a kid, just like her and he was eating an apple! God knew the last time she ate one of those.
The kid noticed her staring and waved at her to come over? She wasn't sure if she was seeing right but decided to follow regardless.
The kid, she noticed no more than 9 had a very genuine face.
Strangely sunny blond hair, moss-green eyes, and a sincere smile which could not be faked. She studied him for a moment before the kid decided to break the silence."Hi, I'm Antonio". He exclaimed in a voice which was too cheerful for such an awful day. "I'm Narezza". she replied in a quiet tone. "Unique name Narezza".
He smiled. He had a pretty smile she noticed."who named you? it seems like nothing I've heard before" he asked his novelty getting the better of him. "I did." "you what?" but before she could reply he shakes his head and steers inside.
Why were people running away from her today!? She surely hadn't grown horns, had she?
But Antonio was back, and with two apples this time. "come with me." he started as he walks past and into the little yard of the romus. She really shouldn't be here, but what else did she have to do... So she followed.Antonio was ascending a tree when she reached. He seemed to be struggling too. When he reached the top he motioned for her to follow. "you want help?" he yells, he really didn't have to though because the tree wasn't that tall. Narezza just shook her head and climbed with ease.
Antonio looked flabbergasted "bu- but how?" guess living in the streets did have it's advantages.
"I'm just good at it" she shrugged.
"but you're a girl" he explains.
And that seems to anger narezza.
"so you are saying that boys are better than girls?" she concludes her voice taking a lethal edge.
