Shh...

Do you hear that

"Hear what?" you ask

Hear the silence that has embraced the darkness

Who has quieted the rambling man

The crying baby

The child who throws a tantrum

The lovers who argue

Ah, the wonderful, blissful sound of

Silence

Be wary for to much silence is bad

For the old man who has been locked away

Has been penetrated by

Silence

You can hear him in him home in the late hours of the night

When the cars go to sleep

And the now empty streets take a break

You can hear him interrupting the

Silence

He conversates with himself

About things that do not exist in our world

For they only exist in his

You can hear him shout from utter disgust

Or pain

Or disgrace

Now I have laid eyes upon him once

In the late hours of the night

He stepped out into the

Silence

His blank eyes pierced my soul

But I remained

Silent

For I knew one day

He will lie down

In the darkness

Wrapped in

Silence
