I heard foreign tongue, only one of the sounds I understood. I looked up around the beast’s belly. The land outside was unfamiliar and it seemed foreign to me having just got used to the sky beast’s insides. I wondered where the nice treat twowalker was, or where the other twowalker had gone. It unsettled me to be alone in the creature that had captured me.
'Shilo!' the sound came again from behind me. I turned to see my treat master, Andy.
Something about him was familiar, made him easier to trust, especially when he gave me yummy sweet treats. I saw him smile when I reacted to the name he'd given me, a smile so similar to those of my wolf pack. He seemed distant, like the alpha would be when he was worrying about wolf prey.
He added another sound, which sounded like he wanted me to come. When he patted his paw against his hind leg I knew he wanted me to join him out of the sky beast. I knew that two things would happen if I left the sky beast. More foreign territory and no way home to my wolf pack. I whimpered softly trying to explain my problem to him.
'Shilo!' he said tapping his leg again.
I looked at him uncertain, but knew that no wolf would cross another unless they had done something wrong. I had done nothing wrong and surely even twowalkers wouldn't punish nothing. I reluctantly crawled to the edge of the skybeast’s belly, pausing, hoping it might rise again and return me to the pack. Realizing it might instead take me further away from my pack I decided that I would rather be with kind twowalker in a new world than alone in one.
'Shilo! Come,' he said patting his side again. This time I sprung from the skybeast to land on some strange black rock that felt strange under my paws.
'Shilo!' exclaimed Andy in a tone that reminded me of adult wolves telling off their young.
I was unsure why he made this sound until the sounds and smell of this world all stormed to me at once. So much smell, a sour smell coming from the black rock, sweet smells also reached my nose but from all directions. The smell of foreign food coming from everywhere, but I found the sounds were more alarming still. There was a stampede of yelps and short howls; none upset though, all calling for something. I turned toward the sound to have my eyes blinded by many little lights. I released an alarmed yelp and tried to rub the light from my eyes. Looking up I could see John with what looked like a large pack of twowalkers all making loud yelps and short howls to me. They kept flashing something at me, hurting my eyes. Panic and anger surged through me and I started to rumble with a deep growl, baring my sharp teeth to the twowalkers. On all fours I stood quite far below the twowalkers and I noticed how large they were. Fear gripped me and I howled for Andy's protection, backing towards the sky beast. I heard Andy call to me, his desperate cries letting me know something was wrong. I turned to see him but was quickly cut off when the flashing twowalkers swarmed around me. Fear and panic completely consumed me, as there was nowhere to go, I felt completely trapped. I howled my distress, calling for treat master. Once again I bared my teeth warning them to leave, releasing a deep furious growl.
'Shilo!' the shout of Andy came from nearby, but in the middle of the twowalkers I could not see him. Looking around anxiously, I couldn't smell or see him. I'm not sure why but suddenly every flashing twowalker began to howl my name. Now I was truly confused, with none of my senses to rely on, I growled as viciously as I could and began to bite and snap at the twowalkers. This spread them out quickly as they tried to avoid my sharp teeth. In the instant that they had spread out I spotted Andy and he reached me. Hiding behind his legs, I found that he too was very tall, a bit smaller than a bear. He protected me from the flashing twowalkers, barking something in his tongue that slowed their flashes and stopped some of them. It was then that a new smaller group of twowalkers emerged. Headed straight for me staring Andy to submission. These must be the head wolves in the twowalker world.
