A car revs in the driveway, Kaia sits on Claire's bed, memories replaying in her head I'll Protect you.' Kaia closed her eyes and remembered Claire's sad whisper- 'Kaia...'
She snapped out of it as she Heard the door downstairs open and close, at first it was just muffled conversation- then a duffel bag full of weapons dropped loudly on the ground and just as quickly She heard footsteps thumping on the stairs, and the bedroom door opened. "Claire..." Kaia whispered as her face lit up. Claire sobbed and put her hand to her mouth. "Kaia." Claire said through tears. Kaia stood up and stepped closer to Claire. "I'm back. I'm home." She wrapped her arms around Claire and shut her eyes tightly fighting back tears "I'm home" she repeated as Claire sobbed in her arms.
Jody, Donna, Alex, and Patience stood in the doorway with mixtures of relief and proudness scattered across their faces. 'Thank you' Kaia mouthed to Jody, who nodded in response. A tear fell from Kaia's eye as she looked at Claire "Shhh.. you don't have to cry anymore." She wiped a tear from Claire's face and they both smiled softly at each other. "Screw it" Claire said, she put her hands on Kaia's cheeks and pulled her in for a kiss. Kaia chuckled, wrapping her arms around Claire's neck. When their lips parted- Alex patted Claire's shoulder. "I'm happy for you, sis." She ruffled her hair with a smirk. Claire looked back at everyone, holding Kaia's hand in her's. "We all are, Kiddo" Donna agreed with a cheeky little smile. "I love you guys so much" Claire responded, overwhelmed with joy.
