my sister, oakley, my little brother, onyx, and i were going on a walk that they had begged and begged for.

oakley is 14, onyx is 9, about to turn 10 next weekend, and i am 16. 17 in about a month

on our walk, we're talking about onyx's birthday party. he wants it to be surfer boy beach themed but me and my sister think it should be a glow in the dark party.

obviously we just agree with him and continue talking about who he's going to invite.

"we have to invite jaxon! and marcus! and alex! and carter! and my soccer team!" he says

"we'll just have to tell mom, but i'm sure she can reach out to their parents" oakley says

we continue our walk and we see a little boy playing outside in his front yard

"carter!" onyx tells as he runs towards the little boys yard

me and my sister run after him.

as we approach the boys, onyx starts introducing us to his friend

"these are my sisters. that's oakley and this is olivia" he says. me and oakley look at each other and then slightly wave to onyx's friend.

my sister and i stood there awkwardly as carter and onyx talked.

"there's my brother!" carter says as he points to behind us.

i turn around and see a tallish, green eyed, blonde haired dude. i've seen him around school before but we've never talked. i don't think i've ever even seen or heard him speak.

"kaden! come meet my friend.. and his sisters!" carter yells as kaden begins to walk up to us.

"this is onyx. and those are his sisters" he says

kaden smiles at us and reaches his hand out to shake onyx's hand along with mine and oakleys

he shakes my hand last, but instead of just dropping it, he held it for a while, starring at me. i pulled my hand away and he finally looked away from me

"come on, we gotta get inside to eat dinner" he says patting carters shoulder.

the boys say bye to each other and me and my siblings begin to walk home.

when we get home we help out mom make our brothers birthday party invitations as we eat.

"oh yeah, onyx wants to invite the soccer team and.. who else did you say?" i said

"i'll just write them down" he says as he gets up, sighing, going to his room to get paper and pens.

he comes back and begins making a list;

i go over the list and struggle to read his handwriting "no girls?" i say.

"i guess we can invite lola" he says blushing

i smile and hand my mom the list and she starts texting parents for addresses as i finish the invitations.

as i'm getting ready for bed , i hear someone come into my room and i turn to see my sister, with a smirk on her face

"why are you looking at me like that?" i say throwing a pillow at her. she catches it (surprisingly)

"oh i don't know.. maybe it's just that the tension between you and that dude was absolutely insane" she says

"what dude" i reply, rolling my eyes

oakley is always trying to dramatically romanticize my life. a boy could glance at me and then suddenly she's planning a wedding. sure it can be nice at times having her as my wing man, but it's also a curse whenever she goes up to random people in random places telling them her sister is single.

"oh you know.. kaden" she says winking

my face drops. "ew! i don't even know him! and there was no tension" i say

she scoots closer to me and puts her hand on my shoulder "oh olivia. poor, sweet, innocent olivia. he was totally into you. you should ask him out!" she says

there was no way i'm asking out a dude i barely just met through my little brother. "are you crazy! no way! now get out of my room!" i say

she gets up and before she walks out she turns around "it's okay to be in denial at first" she says with a reassuring look before she walks out and closes the door

i shake my head and laugh. i grab my phone and go on tiktok. someone had viewed my account

i wash my face and brush my teeth. i'm a cheerleader so i have to get up kind of early tomorrow for the first practice

i go back to bed and get a notification

i feel dumb for saying he was stalking me, but in my defense he did find my socials really quickly

it's next friday at our house. i think my mom is gonna send out invitations with more details and carter can bring his bathing suit if he wants to swim. we have towels for everyone

i swipe out of the conversation and turn my phone off before going to sleep

i wake up and take a quick shower
i put my hair in a low ponytail and get dressed before heading out the door

me and my friends are all on the cheer team so i go to pick up maddie and taylor

we pull up to the football field and i see a familiar face in the parking lot

kaden.

he looks my way and gives me a smile with a wave. i wave back awkwardly

"girl was that.. " maddie asks. i roll my eyes. "don't even ask" i reply as i get out of the car

he is definitely stalking me.
