At his house

I entered my room and turned on the television. As I changed the channels, I saw that the same news was over every channel. I stopped at one channel and read the headlines. Brave girl dies while saving her sister. 'Brave!!!' I sat on the sofa and remembered what Abriana had said the other day. 'She'll be loved by everyone.' Well now, she's not only being loved by everyone but also admired for her bravery.

"I can't believe she saved our lovely girl Abriana", a woman from the public said on the TV. Another woman continued, "The Vega sisters are true example of love and courage." And after she finished, the public shouted in chorus, "We love you Alexa and Abriana."

I frowned and changed the channel. It showed that a massive crowd had gathered near the City Memorial on the previous night to light the candles for the loss of Vega family. Everyone prayed for Alexa so that she may rest in peace. They also prayed for Abriana to give her the strength to fight the situation.

I switched off the television and lay down in my bed. It is Alexa's funeral tomorrow. Her death has been ruled out as an accident and her fake heroism has won many hearts already. The teenagers and their parents have become a big fan of her. It's really going to be a big turnout tomorrow.

I thought about what happened at the lake. I knew everything that happened there but I couldn't prove it as there were no witnesses. Easton Pierce was clinging to life in ICU and Abriana's lawyers wouldn't let me talk to her. Her parents were going to protect her at any cost.

I finally thought of the real brave and loving Vega daughter who was not only able to rescue herself from abduction but also showed affection towards her kidnapper by making her a life saviour. Abriana has finally done it. She loves her sister as much as her sister hated her. She is right, no matter whatever they did or didn't do, they never deserve to go first.

I couldn't solve the case and bring the truth in front of everyone. But I swore to myself that someday I'll reveal the truth. One day I'll officially solve this case. Come hell or high water, I'll solve this case.
