Nature of the Ninja

BIG AUTHOR'S NOTE: The following story is part of the fanfiction "Power Rangers: Zoo-Keepers". It takes place between the ending of Episode 33 and the beginning of Episode 34 (AKA parts 11 and 12 of Season 2). If you have not read that story to this point, it is highly encouraged you do so as this story is not intended for newer readers but rather those who have been keeping up with it. As such, spoilers for all 33 episodes up to this point abound. This also includes the entirety of both Ninja Steel and Super Ninja Steel, as well as some spoilers for the first season of Dino Fury. As usual, I have no affiliation with the people who make Power Rangers or Super Sentai, whether it be Saban, Hasbro, Nickelodeon, Toei, Netflix, etc., and this is all just a fun fanfiction exercise to try and adapt the 2016 series Doubutsu Sentai Zyuohger on my terms without some of the current restrictions Power Rangers tends to have on television. Also, this story is written in a script format. I write it as if it was being viewed on tv and recapped with mentions of things such as camera cuts, editing, footage mixing, audio changes, music, etc. If that bothers you, you may not like what you read as this is how I write fanfics.

POWER RANGERS: ZOO-KEEPERS__NATURE OF THE NINJA
(Adapted from "Doubutsu Sentai Zyuohger Vs Ninninger: Message from the Future from Super Sentai")

Summer Cove, California, 3 pm PST.

Golden pollen spores fly through the air during a beautiful afternoon over a lush forest as the early summer sun shines bright and beautiful.

This lasts for about 12 seconds as we pan down into the said forest to find our heroes along the shore of a river, having fun around a campsite while wearing clothing more casual than their zookeeper uniforms. Caleb Lachlan's in a button-up flower pattern shirt with black and red shorts, Winston Evans is in a green plaid short-sleeve button-up over a white undershirt with light-brown pants, Sylvia Santos' wearing a striped black and white shirt with jeans, Jackie Sanders is in a blue swim shirt with jean-shorts, and Benny Washi's in a red swim shirt with whale artwork on it and swim trunks.

Starting things off, the Yellow Lion Ranger enjoys the good weather by doing some flips to feel the wind.

Caleb: (flips) Haha! Gotta love the early summer breeze in your hair!

We then see the Blue Shark Ranger is already taking advantage of the river and swimming around.

Jackie: (sighs) Nothing like California river water, baby!

Back on land, we see the White Tigress Ranger and Green Elephant Ranger laying on chairs, the former having a smoothie and the latter reading a book.

Winston: So. How's your first Camping trip sweet?

Sylvia: (sips) Good, but I've tasted better. Whatcha reading?

Winston: It's about the history of the Tasmanian Tiger and how it may not be extinct.

Sylvia: Ooh, got any copies?

We then cut to the Red Eagle Ranger a few feet away, kneeling and trying to set up a tent.

Benny: Not to ruin anyone's fun but shouldn't we set up the tents soon?

Jackie: Relax, babe, we got all afternoon to set 'em up!

She says this while backstroking in the river.

Caleb: She's right. We're on a two-day vacation! Live a little!

Benny: (chuckles) Hey, I've been living for the past year and a half!

Caleb: Well, live a little more than!
