Chapter 1

I could literally feel the adrenaline pumping through my veins as I was running

I was having regrets now but I don't think I have time to dwell on that
If only....
So many ifs were running through my mind but I pushed them aside
I had to get to the base as fast as possible
I had to warn the others
They had to know
"Lord Jesus help me" I said out loud

I looked back and I saw the van was close now
I decided to think of a way to loose them so they wouldn't find our hide out

I took a turning to the left and kept on running . As I looked back, I saw the van was no longer behind me . Relief flooded through my veins

I didn't stop though until I got to an area where there was a sharp turning by the left. I was so relieved cause i was getting closer to the others.

I kept on running and ducked when I saw two men in the green overalls commonly worn by those working for our new military government. I quickly removed the phone I was able to get from Ann's house along with other valuables from my bag pack and tried dialing my home line. As I had guessed it didn't go, I tried again while whispering words of prayers.

"ringing....." I was so happy, and thankfully after it rang once Daniel picked

"HELLO" I whisper yelled into the phone speaker

"I've been able to get the food stuffs Ann said will be in your house . But on my way some men in green spotted me........"

I didn't even get to finish what i was about to say before I heard d others shouting

"Is he ok?.... OMG Daniel let us speak with him.... What if he gets caught"

I heard Daniel trying to calm them down and explain to them that i was ok and they should allow me speak.

"ahem ahem..I wasn't caught but thanks for the concern. I'm presently hiding but I'll be with y'all in a few . You should all go down stairs and hide at the back of the underground garage. There is no telling if they might follow me or not and I want us to be prepared" I calmly explained to them before i cut the call and placed it back where i removed it from

I waited a little bit before I decided to get out of my hiding place

Immediately I came out I heard the sound of motor bikes and the cocking of guns

I knew at that point that there was nothing I could do and no where to run so I just stayed put and pretended I was a normal passerby

I remembered a quote i saw on a post on quora sometimes ago "you don't always need a plan, sometimes you just need to breath, trust, let go and see what happens"

So i followed it
"Hey you " I heard someone say

"Yes sir" I replied

"Have you seen any boy, tall dark skinned on a blue hoodie " the person asked

"No sir I haven't " I answered quickly not without saying a thank you to God in my mind for making me remove my hoodie when I was in that uncomfortable situation and feeling hot

I briskly walked away trying to behave less suspicious and passed a path that I felt was longer in case anyone tries to follow me

As soon as I saw the house I was so happy

After series of events we all decided it will be safer to stay at my place because it was more enclosed. It felt as though my parents had seen this coming while building this house.

I looked around to ensure I was the only one there after making sure I was I entered the gate and shut the the door

I did our signature whistle then opened the kitchen door
I was pretty sure if I hadn't whistled a bullet would have been lodged in between my brain.
When everything started we had to learn necessary self defense and it has helped us lots of time to get away from "not soo good situations"

"We are 5 children in the house living alone with no adult, trying to run away from so many people, trying to bring more people to Christ and it all started with the RAPTURE"

An update
So I had wanted to post this chapter since buh I wasn't led to at that point buh now I have and I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it
Subsequently I'll be posting other chapters.
This is short and I'll try making the rest a bit longer .
Also it might not make much sense now but it'll become more understandable after reading the rest
