My one shot stories

The story of 1LT. Tuner and SSGT. Briggs

(This is a draft of a story I started a few years ago, I never got around to finishing, so I hope you'll enjoy)

Introduction: WW2(World War 2)was the deadliest conflict in human history almost every country took part in the conflict there were two sides: the axis(Germany, Italy, and Japan) and the allied forces(America, U.K., and the U.S.S.R.(Union of Soviet, Socialist, Republic.)And France.) D-Day was the turning point of WW2 on the western front. All the countries that took part in this day were America, the U.K., France, Poland, and Germany (at the time Nazi Germany.).

Chapter one: D-DAY Omaha

1st. Sgt. Briggs had a family of two kids and a wife. Well, 1LT. Turner had three kids and a wife. Briggs and his family were at Pearl Harbor on 1941, December 7th when groups of Japanese Fighters and dive bombers attacked the Naval Base Pearl Harbor. He decided to join the U.S. Army to defend America. In 1943 he met Lieutenant Turner at training for the preparation for the invasion. They were part of the 102nd Armored battalion in 1944 it was 10 at night when Lieutenant Turner and staff sergeant Briggs heard engines start. Lieutenant Turner said the 101St airborne division is already going out a couple of minutes later when they hear sounds of machine-gun fire and see fire lights up in the sky and they immediately knew the planes were getting shot down. 

General Eisenhower said to all the Infantrymen on the invasion of Operation Neptune. "we shall accept nothing less than full victory." Then it was time for operation Neptune. The most known part of D-Day(day of all days) is part of the operation. 

They both get in the Higgins boat and they're off to the beaches of Normandy. "2000 meters!" said the driver. 

"GET READY!" said captain William. 

"1500 METERS!" said the driver. 

"BRACE!" yelled the captain. 

"WE NEED COVER" yelled the driver. 

"Negative stay On Course." Said 1. SGT John. 

bullets start whizzing everywhere. "Drop the ramp," said 1LT. Tuner. 

"Yes sir." said the driver. Then troops drop because of the MG-42 shooting at the Higgins boat.

"OVER THE TOP!" Yelled Master Sergeant. Everybody that survived the boat dived into the water. Now they had to worry about swimming. Now was a life or death situation so they dropped their stuff so it was easier to swim. But not everyone made it.

" where is the rallying point?" said PVT. Edward. 

"at the seawall!" Yelled 1LT. Turner. They went from cover to cover. Until they reach the seawall. "Who's in charge here?" Said 1LT. Turner. 

"You are sir." Said PVT. Chase. 

"Where's SSGT. Briggs?" Said 1LT. Turner. 

"I do not know." Said 1 PVT Moore. 

"We need those Bangalores!" Yelled 1LT. Turner. 

"Bangers inbound!" Yelled an engineer. 

"Set up those Bangers!" Yelled master Sergeant Miller. "Turner!" Yelled SSGT. Briggs. "Briggs, where are you?!" Yelled 1 LT. Turner. 

"Clear the shingles!" said an engineer. Everyone took cover then Bangalore blew up. Troops charged up the beach to the closest bunker then they went up. Group by group. Tell there were only two soldiers left in front of the bunker two 

"those MG-42s are cutting up our troops. we need someone to take them out. Do you think you are fast enough to take them out?" asked LT. Turner. "Yes I can and I will," said SSGT. Briggs "Are you ready?" said Turner.

"Affirmative," said Briggs. 

"time to kill those damn krauts, NOW!" yelled Turner. Briggs sprints to the nearest point that he can kill the krauts blam, blam, blam, blam, blam, blam. The MG-42 nest goes silent and the Briggs is heavily breathing. 

"GET DOWN!" yelled Turner as he ran well shooting his M1 Garand blam blam blam. Briggs turns his head to see a german standing there holding his Karabiner 98k with bullets through him. He starts to stumble as Briggs looks into his eyes he sees fear, grief, and pain. He fell to the ground and died. "Are you ok?" asked Turner scared. 

"Y-yes I am," said Briggs. 

"I thought I could have lost you," said Turner. 

"Let's finish this," said Briggs as they moved they found a bunker with their squad. 

"The krauts are running low on ammo let's move." Said Briggs. they got to the first bunker. 

"You and Turner toss a grenade in there," said Captain Williams. Briggs and Turner toss a grenade in the bunker BOOM, BOOM! The grenades go off. 

"move, move," said Turner. two krauts came out of the bunker and Turner and Briggs shot them up. the drop-dead One-Shot seven times. The other shot five times. Turner and Briggs and the team at the entrance of the bunker you can hear the MG-42 cutting down their brothers in arms. "Frag out!"...
