- He only had me and I only had him.
-You had a family though and other friends, right?
-Not really. I mean technically yes but in reality I felt so lonely.
-Why?
-My parents were so busy and I never seemed to fit in with other kids at school so it was mostly me and him. We went to school together, did our homework, played football, watched TV and then he went to sleep at his home.
-Where did he live?
-He lived near the lake with his grandma. I never visited though.
-Why not?
-He said things weren't great at home. His grandma was always sick and we enjoyed staying at my house, it was big and there's always food and we never ran out of things to do.
-And your parents?
-What about them?
-Did they like him?
-Yes, I mean why wouldn't they? He was my only friend. They had to.
-Were you happy?
-Yes, happiest times of my life.
