"Fabulous work yesterday Sadie. You really showed everyone what you're made of." My boss - Toto Wolf - Mercedes F1 boss said whilst sat in the lounge drinking tea opposite me.
"What are you on about, I was awful. I was 20 seconds slower than Lewis and 8 seconds slower than Charles. That's literally hours." I threw my phone down on the table in frustration. We had another qualifier again today and I still managed to lose to the french bastard.
"Look, all that matters is that you can actually race. I need your game face on for tomorrow, Sadie." Wolf exclaims.
I nod in agreement, still agitated.
"Yeah Sade, gotta be top of your game for tomorrow." Lewis chimes in, sat next to me. Or you could say on top of me.
Since meeting Lewis, we've been inseparable. We tell each other about our secret rendezvous with famous celebrities that not even the press know about. Our relationship has always just been platonic, a brother and sister-like bond.
"You guys have fun today. I wouldn't usually let you but for what you both accomplished today please be my guest." Toto orders.
Me and Lewis both turn to each other in shock, "The race is in less than 24 hours."
"Yeah well, you both need to let off some steam. As long as you arrive on time and perform well I don't care what you do."
After a long talk with the boss about how he's 'trusting us not to do anything stupid' we finished our brunch and head up to the suites.
"Am I going to be seeing you wearing that every morning whilst we're here Lewis." I turn to him in the glass elevator. He's turned to me in all his glory in a navy hotel spa gown with matching slippers.Hamilton stares down at his attire and laughs "of course."
A few minutes go by within the elevator. Mercedes obviously had to splash and buy the most high up and expensive suites there are. But hey- I'm not complaining.
"Oh and hear me out" - I turn to him with complete fear of what he's about to say next,
"Verstappen's rich friend has a house out here. Apparently he's throwing a 'pre-race party' there. Everyone is going to be there" He bats his eyelashes at me, "please come."
I'd rather be practising for the race. But something tells me I should go - loosen up a little. I am 23 after all. It should be me wanting to go - the man's nearly 40.
"Ugh fine. But the second I've had enough I'm leaving, got it?" I say sternly. He jumps up making the lift shake. I smack him on the arm, I absolutely hate lifts. I'd have taken the stairs but this hotel had no stairs.
He laughs "Oh Sade, get over yourself" he grabs my head playfully rubbing it with his knuckles. "Oi! Stop messing my hair up" I giggle at him.
"That's what I was hoping to do" ,he says as he proceeds to rub it.
The lift chimes and we both felt two presences in front of us. I look up from underneath Lewis' arms and he does the same. It was Jack and Sean, quietly confused as to what they interrupted. We both stumble out in the same position and Lewis soon decides to start running down the hallway, taking me with him.
Lewis shouted, "Sadie doesn't need you to babysit her tonight, I'll be her bodyguard."
[ Hi guys. I hope your all enjoying the book so far. Sorry if it's a bit of a slow start I need to lay down the foundations before building up the story. In this book not all of the events, information will be 100% accurate. Sadie Brando for one - is a fictional character. I've made her so she will get the results of George Russell in all of his Grand Prix's. So I don't change the outcome too much]
