Chapter One
No Name
Y/n POV December 22 2019
I started to wake up to the sound of my roommate, Jen, yelling in between alarm screeches. "Y/N get your ass up and turn that alarm off, PLEASE before I lose more brain cells!"
Rolling over, I hit the 'off' button on my alarm clock and groaned, not wanting to depart from the beautiful sleep I was in.
But after 5 minutes or so of denial, I finally opened my eyes with a sigh, letting the light into them; only to be met with the harsh view of the clock that read 6:43 A.M.
My eyes went wide as I jumped out of bed, "SHIT!" In a rush, I grabbed whatever I could find: a grey band t-shirt from high school and some old jeans, and put them on. I threw on my favorite shoes—black combat boots— and tied them, at a speed that was probably a new personal record, before running to the bathroom. I brushed my teeth and hair enough to look presentable and ran out of the bathroom again.
"WHAT THE-" Jen says, almost dropping her apple juice as I ran past her.
"I'M LATE!" I got out quickly before slamming the door shut in my panic."God Dammit Y/n!" Jen yelled through the door as I ran down the stairs. Despite the late rise, I managed to make it to work, my café, with enough time to unlock the door and set up everything for the morning rush.
After a couple of hours, and a hundred or so orders, it started slowing down. Once the rush dies down college kids usually come in to work on their essays, and those that came in for a cup of coffee and a new book to read start heading out of the shop. Finally leaving me with some peace and quiet.
I sighed and started to clean off some tables and mentally prepare for the next rush that should start in a couple hours. I walk around and hum while picking up cups and plates, repositioning chairs, and cleaning off the coffee counter.
Hailee's POV
"Mom I will be okay. Nothing is going to happen and besides, I'll be home soon," I said, laughing a little at my phone as I walked down the street with my dog Martini.
"I know honey I'm just," she paused for a second, "I'm just really worried,"
"Mom, I'll be okay, I promise," I said smiling, as I adjust my sunglasses.
"Alright honey be safe and call me later okay? I love you my Haiz Bear,"
"I will, I love you too Mom," I ended the call, checking the time; 8:03, before putting my phone back into my pocket. I pushed my sunglasses onto my head and saw a sign for a café called 'BOOKERS'. "This looks cute doesn't it Tini? Let's go check it out," I said to Martini as I opened the door to the shop.
The Bell above the door lets out a small ding. As i look around seeing little plants, Tables, and a small library. Walking forward To the empty register and gazing at the menu.
"Good morning, my name's Sara, what can I get for you today?"
"Hi Sara um can I get one medium light iced oat milk latte please," I paused thinking for a moment, "Oh! And a banana muffin too please?"
"Of course! That'll be $5.62, will that be cash or card?" Sara asked as she put in the order.
"Cash Thank you keep the change!" I said smiling as I handed her a $20 and got the muffin in return.
"Go ahead and take a look around it shouldn't be that long Have Fun!"
"Come on Tini lets have a look around," I said, letting Martini down as I started to wander around looking at all the books.
Y/n POV
"Hey Y/n can you give this to that customer Please? I have to go to the restroom," Sara asked in a hurry, handing me a cup before walking away with a thank you.
I sighed and mumbled a quiet sassy response as I made my way to the girl Sara had pointed out, a beautiful brunette in a cozy looking blazer, to hand her the drink .
"Here I—" 3rd Person POV
Hailee turned around only to be met with a body colliding into hers, causing the cold drink to splash all across the stranger. In the shock from the collision the stranger took a step back only to fall to the floor.
"Oh my god OH MY GOD I am so sorry", Hailee rushed over her words down bending down looking at the stranger
As Y/n groans with her eyes shut and with small "Ow" leaving her lips
Hailee in a panic thinking she hurt the oddly adorable stranger after taking in a breathe she speaks, "Are—-,pausing for a moment. ''Are you Okay?"
