"Your dress is too plain." Naomi said her face scrunched up at her sister.

It was Niola's wedding day. Friday.
As she fully expected that it would be her first and final wedding ever, she was keen to making the most of the occasion.
Arranged or not.

She would not let her sister's lack of enthusiasm deflate her spirit.

Niola twirled a little in the full length mirror, mainly for fun. She loved her customer made dress, which Kalem insisted on strongly.

It hugged every curve of her body and had a beautiful lace design. It was sparkling white. She wore a flat white shoes considering that the wedding was being held on a private beach. She wore her make-up light as usual and had her hair pulled neatly back into a big bun and added a veil.

There was a knock on the door before Tommy poked his head in then came in.

"Wow, sis," he said in awe coming over to where she stood. "You look beautiful."

Niola blushed affectionately at her brother.

"I still think you should have picked the ninety dress you tried." Naomi babbled.

"Oh shut it, Naomi." Niomi murmured from where she was adding her pearl necklace in the small mirror.

"Don't worry, sis," Tommy said. "She's just jealous she's not the one marrying an rich italian guy."

That explains the slight accent. She thought.

"Kalem gave me this, he wants you to wear it." Tommy continued. Her handed her a red rectangular valet box.

She opened it to find the most beautiful necklace she had ever seen. It was full of diamonds. And it must have cost a fortune!

Her mom and sisters gasped at the beauty of it as Tommy hooked it around her neck.
The room went silent.

"I'm gonna miss you, babe." Tommy said melancholy, breaking the silence.

Niola fought back tears.

"I love you guys so much." They all hugged.

"Okay, no crying just yet." Her mom said as she fanned away her tears and smilled brightly.

"Let's get moving. Your father is probably going crazy out there." Her mom huddled them.

"Don't I get to see the bride."

They all turned.

"Grand mama!" Niola threw her arms around the old woman. "I thought you were in the city."

"And miss this beautiful day? I wouldn't." Wilma smilled. "The dress is just perfect."

"Thanks grand mama," Niola smilled tearfully.

"Now don't start the water works, its your day. Now come on before they think you've ran off." Wilma smilled at her grand.
