Four Strong
Sienna Calloway was the girl that people only noticed on occasion, she had a tight and well woven group of friends who never really venture far out of their shells. They are never alone and you would not find one of the girls without another from the group.
In SeaCrest high school there are only groups and no mingling in between, the popularity levels were never to be messed with and if anyone dared to try and change it they would never be shunned and tossed aside. The popular girls at SeaCrest were viscous, terrifying creatures. If you got on their wrong side you were as good as shark bait. The people you once thought were your friends weren’t there anymore. In a blink of an eye you were deserted and hated.
That is the kind of power those girls had, so to avoid them and their wrath. A group of four girls banded together to make sure that someday, they would save each other and hopefully their crumbling school.
Iris Green kept a mental notebook, its pages filled with knowledge about every person in the school. She separated each person into separate groups, not the kind of stereotypes they had but by their genuine character. Iris could spot a decent person from yards length away, and a devil like person from a mile away. Iris was the groups’ brain; she kept everything neat and safe for the rest of the girls.
Scarlette Monoham made sure both fists were always up and ready. She was always prepared for any threat, whether it be from the ‘popular’ girls or from a person trying to hurt her and her girls. Scarlette was once abused by her family, until the group took her in as one of their own, they helped stopped the torture she went home to, and it was all she could do to pay them back. To protect them, and that is what she did. Scarlette was the back-bone.
Ceylon Grace was the talent, she was artistic and creative. There was nothing that she could not make or produce, her voice was skilled and magical, she could draw better than anyone at school but she tried to hide it from everyone except the group. Ceylon was the hope that someday they would make it out of SeaCrest alive, and possibly with a future. She had an eye for things that many would overlook, such as colors, shapes, and even people. Ceylon was the mouth and hands of the group, always sharp and on task.
Then there was Sienna Calloway, the shy girl just trying to get through the obstacles life has loved throwing at her. Sienna had the feelings of them all; she was caring and always put others before herself. If she saw someone being picked on even though she was scared to, she would always go over and try to help the poor victim. In fact, all of the girls in the group were victims and Sienna hated to see them all in constant pain, so she decided to help. Soon enough they realized that if they had and stuck with each other than nothing could get in their way, and it was all Sienna’s doing. No matter what Sienna was doing if any of her girls needed help she was there. They were her family, the only family she had and she couldn’t bare it if she lost them. Sienna was the heart and soul of the group.
Sienna’s parents were great to her, they cared for her and filled all of her basic needs but they never gave her the one thing she ever wanted. To be unconditionally loved, that was the one thing she craved more than anything. So if she could not have that, then she would damn well try to let everyone else have that. Sienna was never one to judge and always had an open mind and heart.
In her seventh grade year in middle school, Sienna came home to a note on the counter. It said that her parents were going to be gone for a few days and that they left food and money for her. It tore her up inside, because Sienna always knew that her parents loved each other, and that no matter what she did Sienna could never make them love her. She did all of her chores, she got good grades and made the right friends but it was never enough to earn her their love.
