A Beginning To Her Ending

25. First love

I got out of the car and went straight inside without waiting for anyone. Max came running after me.

"Listen to me, Vincent... Vince... Bro" he was calling me but I went straight to kitchen and pulled out a bottle of water.

"I am not talking to you, you made me look like a fool there" I scoffed at him, both him and Alexa.

"Look I am sorry but you made a new best friend and I don't share my friends" he said with annoyance.

"Come on Max, ofcourse you are my best friend but Alexa.. she is also nice." I said trying to make him understand.

"Fine but I am your top priority.. Always!" He said and I know what's going on in his mind but I still accepted.

"Okay, you are my first best friend. You are special" I told him with a smile that seems to make him happy.

"Really?" He asked me with a toothy grin.

"Yes, but don't take it to your head" I smiled as I left to go upstairs and I saw all the guys were sitting in living room watching our interaction.

I came out of my room to go downstairs for dinner when I saw Asher sitting in the living room on our floor. I went near him silently and I saw him looking at a picture but from this angle I couldn't see it. His eyes were glinting with many emotions, he look sad too.

"Who is that?" I asked when I sat near him but he placed the picture back in his wallet immediately.

"No one" he said looking away from me.

"Come on tell me, I won't tell anyone. I promise" I said innocently and I saw him smirking.

"My first love" he said with sad smile and then looked at me intently.

"Oh" I said, I don't know why but I felt an unknown emotion in me. 

"Where is she now?" I asked

"I don't know" he shrugged and smiled at me.

"Hm" I hummed and then stood up.

"Why were you crying yesterday night? Did you have nightmare again?" He asked me but I only shake my head.

"Can we not talk about it yet, it's a little personal" I told him and he nods thankfully. That's what I like about him he understands me everytime, I don't know how he does that but it looks like he knows me better than I even know myself.

"Dinner's ready" I said as I went downstairs in the living room where all the guys were present, I heard Asher's footsteps behind me.

"What did you make today?" I asked John as I went towards him. Tyler was setting the plates.

"Spaghetti and meatballs" he smiled at me and a smile spread on my face. His food reminds me of home.

"You know you make the best food" I told him to which he chuckled

"I am flattered" he said with a small bow.

"You need my help?" I asked him and he told me to fill the glasses with water.

"Sure" I said as I went to dinning table and filled the water in all the glasses.

John served us as we all sat around the table. I took my first bite and let me tell you it was heaven.

"It's delicious John" I praised him and by his expression I can say he is happy then I looked at other guys they were eating their food but none of them thanked or praised John.

"Guys!" I cleared my throat to gain their attention and they looked at me with confused faces but then I pointed to John and Max was the first one to say thanks and praised his cooking skills then next was Tyler but other two alpha males were 'shying'.

"And you two?" I narrowed my eyes at them.

"He know that he made the best food" Elliot huffed.

"But sometimes it feels good to be appreciated" I told him and he roll his eyes but still praised him. John was smiling ear to ear.

"Asher?" I called him and he only looked up when his plate was empty.

"Thanks John, its good" he said with a smile. I looked at them with a smile, Good boys!

After dinner I helped John clean the table as Tyler was going to do the dishes.

"Thank you Vincent, it was too kind of you" he said with a small smile.

"I nearly forgot that how it feels to be appreciated" he said with a faraway look.

"Are you okay?" I asked him when I sensed his sadness.

"My dad was a very strict father, he used to beat both of us to pulp if we misbehaved and he was never happy with us. He always has problems with us. I used to learn cooking from my mother since I was a child. I loved doing it, it makes me happy but he used to yell on me whenever he found me in kitchen. He believed that boys should not do women chores" he chuckles but there was pain behind it.

"But my mother she told us to do whatever our heart tell us to do, she taught us everything" he told me with a smile.

"You mother was a nice lady, not many ladies are like her" I told him and he smiled with proud in his eyes for his mother.

"She was the most beautiful and kind lady I have ever known, and also Asher's mother. She is also an Angel" he smiled

"Yes Alice is nice" I smiled.

"What are you doing with my friend?" Max came out of nowhere as he kept his arms around my shoulder pulling me towards him.

"Not again Max" I sighed with annoyance.

"What I am just asking?" He said with a shrug. Yeah yeah sure!

"Max I am thinking of stealing your friend, you can keep Tyler if you want" John said with a teasing smirk and Max glared at him.

"No thank you" he scoffed

"I heard that Johnny" Tyler said feigning hurt.

"Go your brother is angry with you, I have already enough competition I don't want another one" Max groaned as we all chuckled at him.

"Don't laugh at me and you Vincent I thought you were my friend" he glared at me. I stopped laughing immediately and surrendered.

"Sorry" I squeaked out.

"I am going to sleep" he huffed at others and waved at me as he left.

"No max come to the office right now, we have work to do" Asher stopped him and he groaned out loudly as he stomped towards the office like a kid.

"You coming?" Tyler asked me and I immediately shake my head, I have had enough.

"I am fine" I told them and I can see the guys were amused.

I decided to sit in the garden for a while and it's been long I have spend time with Roxy and Bruno so I will take a walk with them around the house.

"I am going for a walk" I said.

"Don't go too far" Asher said seriously and I nodded obediently.

"There are wild animals in the forest, so be careful" Tyler told me and a thought of not going out came but I shrugged and decided to not wander off.

"Come on Bruno and Roxy, we are going for a walk" I called them from their designated corner and they excitedly ran towards me as we went out.

I walked around the house for an hour but only stopped when I realize I came a little away from the house so I decided to turn back.

"Let's go back, Bruno! Roxy! come" I called them as they were ahead of me but came back when I called them.

As we took few steps towards the direction of house I heard a sound behind me. I haste in my steps not looking behind.

"Oh God!" I started praying in my head when someone from front came infront of me and I shrieked in fear.
