"Hey Armin, what happens if these talks fail. What happens if we cant negotiate with them... convince them that we aren't the same anymore, we don't have titan powers" said Jean "and no Eren."
Armin answered, "in the unlikely situation these talks fail we would all be massacred by the Marleyans and the world. They would destroy Paradis with all its inhabitants, even though they know we cannot transform anymore they wont show us any mercy. But, aren't we here to prevent that."
On that faithful day the ambassadors of Paradis island were all travelling to Marley for peace talks with Marley and the other 8 countries which survived the battle of Heaven and Earth, 3 years ago. Armin Arlert, the previous colossal titan user lead the other 5 ambassadors namely Jean Kirstein, Annie Leonhart the previous female titan, Reiner Braun the previous armoured titan, Pieck Finger the previous cart titan and lastly Connie Springer. Each and every one of them had only one ambition in mind, make the peace talks with the world Successful, get freedom from the chains of restraints set upon them by the world and they would get it done no matter the cost.
The boat reached the Marleyan port few hours after the conversation between Armin and Jean. The island, once brutally destroyed was now being rebuilt from the rubble. The boat docked in the Marleyan port, this was the same port destroyed by a strategic transformation done by the colossal titan during the raid on Liberio in 854. This transformation had lead to the death of thousands if not millions of innocent citizens, but was an important one for blocking of the reinforcements that the Marleyan army would sent through the sea route.
Armin glared at the port with sorrowful eyes, thinking about the peaceful souls he killed that day, he was never the one who could brush aside killing people.
"Are you alright?" asked Annie
"Yes, I am." answered Armin
"Your eyes tell a different story though." She said
"Come on guys, we will be late if we don't leave now." said Pieck
The 6 of them had now gotten of the boat and headed towards a car which had come there to pick them up. They were travelling to the airport in Liberio so that they could catch a plane to the capital of Marley, Marley City.

After the battle of Heaven and Earth many nations were left destroyed and without the manpower required most of the countries succumbed. Most countries were wiped off during the battle but many succumbed due to scarcity of resources and civil wars after the battle.
The Marleyan higher-ups decided to allow refuges from other countries into Liberio. Their plan was to use these refuges as manpower to rebuild cities as now they couldn't use the Eldian titan powers to build cities anymore.
in 858 when the refuge plan was put into action many thousands of people flocked into Liberio like animals. They were provided with food, shelter and clothing on the condition that they work for the Marleyans as servants. If they refused they were exiled and weren't allowed to enter Marley ever again.
Over the past 3 years Marley was built up from scratch. Only a bit of the past horrors could be seen, most of it was covered up. There were statues of Marleyan war heroes everywhere, it was truly a beautiful place.

"How much time before we reach the airport?" asked Connie
Reiner answered, "about 30 minutes, its not that far."
They all sat in the car. It was a big car, 8 people could fit in it easily but there where 7 in the car including the chauffeur.
"Do you all feel that?" asked Jean "it's like a presence on the eighth seat even though no one is sitting there."
"Ya, we all feel that." said Reiner "it must be Eren's soul watching over us."
Everyone nodded and left it at that. The presence was felt throughout the ride to the airport only stopping when they reached.
There was an army Commander waiting for them at the airport.
He said ,"Welcome to Liberio, my fellow comrades." He glared at Armin. His guard was up in the unplausible event that Armin transformed into the colossal titan. "I hope your ride to Marley has been smooth. We will be leaving for Marley City shortly. Please show your I.D proof before getting on the plane."
"Good afternoon, Commander ..... Lechly" said Armin looking at the generals batch. "here's my I.D proof." Each one of them held up their I.Ds.
"Very good, you all have permission to get on the plane to Marley City" said Commander Lechly
