SAKU

Chapter 1

A two story house laid still in a suburb, glistening gently with the morning sun. Inside that house lived a family of 5. "Sakuuu~ come down, sweetie. Breakfast is ready!" Lisa said. "Coming, mom.." said the tired teenager. Saku moved her sheets aside and sat up, her midnight blue hair flowing down her back like a river. They finally stood up and started to make her way down the stairs, seeing a table with her family members seated. "Hey Saku!" A girl sitting at the table said, "Hey Marie!" Saku responded. "So, Saku. Are you doing anything today?" Marie asked eagerly,"Probably just playing games or something." "Cool! But I'm going to the mall soon, do you want to come with?" "Sure!" Saku said. "M' glad your getting out of the house, Saku. You barely ever come out of your room these days." "Paul!" Lisa snapped, everyone at the table flinching except for Paul, Sakus step father. "You know that this week has been hard for Saku, especially with his dad leaving. At least put in some effort!" The mother finally finished, "What? I'm just stating facts." Paul stated, ignoring Lisa. "What's with them?" Marie whispered, her head turned to Saku. "Dunno." "Anyway, how are you all today?" Lisa said, trying to move on from the previous conflict. "I'm fine." A boy at the table said, moving around the food on his plate, avoiding eye contact. "That's good! And you, Saku?" "Mmmm- good." Saku replied, finishing her breakfast. "Do you wanna go to the mall soon, Saku?" Marie asked Saku. "Sure, I'll go get dressed." "Yayy!" Marie exclaimed. Saku sat up from the table, making their way up the stairs and to her room.
