"Ms. Nancy?" Brooke said after seeing that familiar face in the cereal section. "Mrs. Howard! How are you?" Nancy turned with a smile. "Please, call me Sarah. I am good. How are you? I didn't know you lived around here." Nancy gave a small chuckle. "No actually. I was in the neighborhood, and I just wanted to make a quick grocery purchase before leaving for home. The supermarket near my place won't be open in this hour." Nancy said, turning back into selecting cereals. "Ohh. What brought you in this neighborhood at this time?" Sarah asked casually. "My friend lives here. I just came over to chit chat."
A guy walked from the end of the aisle to the two ladies and turned to Sarah and said, "Hon, there is no discounts for the detergents. Are you sure you want to buy from here?" Sarah turned to the guy and said, "We have to. We don't have any at home." Sarah turned to Nancy and said, "This is my husband, Jacob. Babe, this is Ms. Nancy. She is my palates instructor." "Hi. Its pleasure to meet you." Jacob winked and raised his hands for a handshake. "Likewise." Nancy shook his hands giving him a smile. Jacob turned to Sarah and said, "So the detergent, which one?" "Ugh... I will come." She turned to Nancy, "I will see you Wednesday?" Nancy nodded. Both the ladies shared a smile before separating.
After getting everything she needs, Nancy paid at the counter and went out to get a cab. "Ms. Nancy... You need a lift?" Nancy turned around to see Jacob and Sarah in their car. "No, it's fine. I don't want to cause trouble this late night." "Don't be silly. Get in!" Nancy got into the car and told Jacob the address. Jacob started driving, while Nancy and Sarah gave each other some small talk. Nancy could see Jacob staring at her through the rearview mirror. Nancy gave a flirtatious smile. It was a 10 minutes' drive. Nancy got off the car and went to the driver side while Jacob opened the window. "Thank you soo much. I live on apartment 23 here. I would really love to invite you for a cup of coffee, but my room is a mess and its late." Sarah smiled and said, "That's okay. Take care!" "You too!" Nancy said to Sarah and gave Jacob one more smile. Nancy watched the couple drive away before entering her building.
Nancy entered her building into her apartment. She walked into the kitchen and dropped all the groceries on the countertop. She opened the liquor cabinet and took out a bottle of wine and a glass. She walked into her living room and sat on the couch. She opened the bottle and poured herself a drink when suddenly, the intercom buzzer went on. She went to the intercom. "Who is it?" Nancy asked into the intercom. "Hey. Its Jacob. Sarah is in the car. You forgot your phone in my car." "Oh Jacob, can you please come up?" She buzzed him open. She opened the apartment door and waited for Jacob. Nancy could hear footsteps coming up the stairs. She finally sees him at the end of the stairs. "Hey Jacob. I am really sorry" Nancy said with a weird sad but smiling face. "Haha. It's okay. Here you go." Jacob handed over the phone to Nancy. "Please come on in." Nancy said, opening the door wider.
Jacob entered to the clean and tidy apartment. "Wow. Is this what you call a mess?" Jacob said jokingly. Nancy laughed. "No. I mean yeah. It's not ready yet. Please have a seat. What would you like to have?" Jacob notices the wine on the coffee table. "I will just have one drink and I will get going. Sarah is waiting in the car." Jacob said. "Okay sure. Let me get a glass." Nancy went into the kitchen to get a glass. She went back into the living room and poured the wine a little too quick into the glass. "Easy. Easy." Jacob said laughing a bit. "Sorry. I feel like you are in a hurry." She handed over the glass to Jacob and took her glass from the table. The clicked the glass together and had a sip. "Why didn't Sarah come up?" Nancy asked Jacob. "Oh. She had a long day." Jacob takes one big sip to finish the drink and stood up to leave. "Okay, I will get going then." Jacob smiled and started walking towards the open door.
As Jacob took one step ahead, he felt a little lightheaded. He took another step and his visions started blurry. He turned around to look at Nancy. She just stood there looking at Jacob. "What?" Jacob asked. "Nothing." Nancy smiled. The next second Jacob just fell on the ground and hit his head. He groaned in pain. Nancy finishes her drink and keep the glass on the table. She looked straight to Jacob, who was having difficulty getting his vision on point. "Thank you for bringing my phone." Nancy said and Jacob was no longer conscious. Nancy dragged him by his feet into her bedroom. She pulled him up onto the bed with great effort and started undressing his shirt.
"Ms. Nancy?" A female voice came from the door, knocking on the open door. "Jacob? Babe? Ms. Nancy? You forgot your wallet too in the car." Sarah walked into the living room and saw two glasses and a wine on the coffee table. She slowly walked into the Nancy's bedroom. She witnessed Jacob laying on Nancy's bed without his shirt on. "Oh, you are a fucking asshole!" Sarah paced towards Jacob and saw he wasn't conscious. She turned around and BAM. A wine bottle was hit across Sarah's face. Sarah fell on the floor. Nancy stood there watching Sarah cry in pain. Nancy kneeled and held Sarah by her hair and kept banging her forehead onto the floor till she started bleeding and fell unconscious.
Nancy went back to close the front door. She sat on her couch on the living room and poured herself another drink. She took a sip and said to herself, "Finally. I am done."
