Tough Love

Chapter 1

I inhaled the fresh scent of coffee as I walked into the coffee shop. I wasn't a big fan of coffee but I love the smell of it, hate me all you want. I walked up to the barista and ordered 2 mochas and 1 hot chocolate with lots of whipped cream. I saw the barista check me out but I didn't care. He handed me my drinks with the bill as he winked and mouthed call me. I scoffed and said "yeah, sure." and left as I mumbled "yeah, sure I'll call you if I ever need a plumber." I hopped into my car and drove toward our apartment, the one I shared with my friends. 

Iris was studying for her med exam and Chloe was working on a new design so, me being the good friend I was, decided to go buy them some coffee to help them and I needed the fresh air. Day after tomorrow, I had the biggest interview of my life, this would either make it or break it. I was working on some new songs to show my interviewer, in hopes to impress them. I reached home, parked my car and headed up. I opened the door as I yelled "Honey, I'm home!" I heard a faint "whatever" from Iris' room and rolled my eyes. "These kids." I tched and placed the bag on the counter and said the magic words "I bought coffee!" The reaction to such a simple sentence was incredulous; I heard a book slam shut and the sound, of what seemed to be, a pencil being thrown at the wall, as the 2 doors banged open with vampires, who ran in the speed of light,  toward the counter. "Thanks, Ayze!" they both yelled as they drank their coffees and Chloe handed me mine ( The hot chocolate of course was mine). " So, what's the progress?" I asked. Chloe replied first as she said "Almost done, actually! I just need to add a few more finishing touches and the dress will be ready!" Iris seemed pissed as she said  "I have 3 more chapters. anyway I needed this, thanks Ayze." "No problem." I replied. I placed my empty cup on the counter as I turned to leave. Then Iris asked "How's songwriting?" in a timid voice, as if I might explode if she asked the wrong thing. I turned and said "It's good, I guess." and left.

I plopped myself on my bed and sighed audibly. I took my laptop and opened to search up 'Augustus Record's CEO' and I saw the picture of probably the most handsome man on Earth, and I have unusually high standards! To be able to fit my standards it like winning the Nobel prize, in my opinion. "Aaron Augustus" I mumbled. So, that was his name, Aaron. That's when Iris and Chloe literally barged into my room and practically shouted " We're going to a 5-star Restaurant!" My eyes widened and I asked " wait- what? How-when-where-what?!?" Iris grinned and said " Well, we wanted to surprise you. You've been so stressed lately because of your interview, I've had exams and Chloe is just generally busy so we wanted some time to relax together!" Chloe then smiled widely and said "You wanna know the reason I've been busy for awhile? Well, I made a dress for you to wear to the restaurant because I wanted to!" I hesitated. "Well, who's paying then?" I replied, raising my eyebrow " We are don't worry about it! Just go put on this dress and get ready!" Iris replied and placed a black piece of fabric in my hands. "Here" she said "go get ready! We leave in 1 hour!" and slammed the door in my face just as I was about to protest. I sighed and unfolded the dress, my eyes became as wide as saucers, as they saw the dress.

"Wow, Chloe." I muttered, that girl is really talented. Wasting no more time, I got ready as I wore the dress and did my hair and makeup.

I took at look at myself. 'Damn.' I thought 'I look real hot." and winked at myself as I asked myself 'Is you single?' I left my room.

"Hey, are you guys ready?" Iris asked, she seemed to be digging in her purse for something. She looked so pretty I almost became gay. "Damn, Risy. You look hot!" I exclaimed, I didn't lie.

She giggled and said "I could say the same about you." I grinned. "Hey, has anyone seen my phone?" I heard Chloe ask behind me. I turned to answer but stopped as I looked at her. She. Was. Amazing. 

( Chloe's dress)

"Thanks. I'm glad you guys liked them." "Wait, liked them? Dude, I LOVE them! My dress suits me so well! Thank you!" I replied. "Let's leave then? Iris asked "No, wait. I can't find my phone." Chloe said "You're holding it." "Oh. Let's leave then."
