Y/n's POV

We went to the coffee shop, WIRED, after Alexa's treatment. Alexa walked through the room, carrying a coffee. Katie, Hannah, Reagan, and I were sitting on couches. Alexa sat down with me and Katie.

"Ok, it's time. Everyone, get out your school schedules," Katie instructed. We all pulled out our schedules.

"On the count of three, say what lunch group you're in," Alexa told everyone. "Ready? One, two, three."

We all opened our schedules. "Group A!" All of us said in sync. Well, not all of us. Hannah didn't. She had opened her schedule, but her eyes were also squinted shut because she was too afraid to look.

"Hannah?" Regan asked.

"I'm afraid to look," she admitted. She opened her eyes and searched for her lunch group on the paper. "Group... A! Thank goodness. I do not think I could eat noodles around strangers." She turned to Katie, whose wrist was wrapped in rope. "What's that around your wrist?"

"Oh, I'm babysitting my brother," she responded.

"What?" Regan asked, laughing.

Katie pulled the rope and Jack stumbled over.

"Hey guys!" He greeted.

"You put Jack on a leash?" Regan asked, staring at Katie.

"It's either this or he sits at the table with us."

We all spoke over eachother, basically just agreeing that the rope was the right way to go. Jack then walked away.

"Hey. first day of high school, let's dye the tips of our hair the school colors," Regan suggested.

"Yes!" Hannah agreed.

"I love that," Alexa responded.

I held my h/l (hair length) hair and looked at it with an excited smile. "I'm all for it!"

"I don't know what part of school I'm most excited about," Katie commented.

"Going out for basketball!" Alexa quickly replied.

"Art club," I said after.

"Pep rallies," Hannah contributed.

"Football games," Reagan followed up with.

"Dances," Alexa continued.

"Cookies?" Katie suddenly asked. Jack stumbled back over, holding a plate with crumbs on it. "Did you eat all the samples?" Katie interrogated.

"What samples?" He asked with his mouth full. Katie glared at him in annoyance. "I'm weak!" He defended. "You knew that when you brought me here." He walked away again.

"Ugh. Gwenny's here," Alexa told us.

"Oh, gosh..." I muttered under my breath.

Gwenny walked into the coffee shop with her allies behind her. She came over to us. Then, she laughed that evil, wicked laugh of hers. "Hello, Alexa."

"Hello, Gwenny," she replied, sarcasm in her tone.

"Long time," Gwenny said.

"Not long enough," Alexa responded with attitude.

"Sorry you didn't make the basketball team," she said, frowning in fake pity.

"What? School hasn't even started," Alexa replied.

"And now I'm in your head," Gwenny said, now smirking.

"Well, I'm in your head, and there's an echo because there's nothing else in here with me."

"'Cause everything left when you walked in."

"Maybe I'll redecorate I'm in here," Alexa suggested to herself.

"Don't you dare," Gwenny warned.

"Too late. It's done."

Gwenny scowled. "Come on, guys. This place isn't cool anymore."

"It will be when you leave."

"Hm." She left the shop with her allies.

Alexa snarled and went back over to couch with us.

We answer at the same time.

"Dog rescue."

"Piano lesson."

"Cooking class."

We looked at eachother, then switched up what we said with eachother.

"Piano lesson."

"Cooking class."

"Dog rescue."

We grabbed our drinks. "Yeah, we're volunteering to teach piano to rescue dogs," Alexa quickly says. They stared at us, confused. "It calms them," she explained.

"Cooking class?" Reagon repeated.

"Oh! Yes! And I am, uh... going to class to cook food for them," I told them.

We walked out the coffee shop when Alexa grabbed our arms. We stopped and looked at her. "What if the doctor doesn't clear me for school?"

Katie elbowed her. "Hey, he will."

I nodded in agreement. "Like you said, you're going to school on Monday, just like everyone else."

"But, uh, just in case..." She crossed her fingers, then I crossed mine too.

Alexa did the same. "Way ahead of you."

We fist bumbed and started to leave. Then we heard a thud behind us and turned to see Jack smooshed against the door from the inside of the coffee shop because he was still tied to Katie's wrist by the rope. He slowly slid down the door.
