"JEKAYLN" I heard my girlfriend of 7 years yell out. I wince getting up out the bed still feeling pain from the beating I took last night
"It took you long enough" she spat as she played her game
"What you want" I asked in a monotone tone
"Food and for you to cook it" she demanded not taking her eyes off the game
"Ivy you call me in here for that," I said in annoyance not caring for the consequences.
Me and Ivy have been together for seven years and in three of those years most of our mornings start like this she always acts as if nothing happened the night before
"Fuck you say to me," she said finally pausing her game
"Go in there and fix it your damn self, my body hurts bad that it hurts to move because YOU CONTINUE TO PUT YOUR FUCKING HANDS ON ME," I yelled, letting out all my frustration
In the blink of an eye, she had me pressed against the wall with her hand wrapped around my neck
"Don't you ever in yo fucking life raise your voice at me again, understand?" She gritted and tightened her grip making it hard for me to breathe
"Do you understand?" she asked again tightening her grip even more with each word
"Y-y-yes" I struggled to get out as everything started to spin
"Go check on my daughter," she said dropping me to the floor as I gasped for air
"I fucking hate you" I mumbled as I got up to walk out of the room
"What you say"
"You heard me," I said walking out Ever since I had Imani she's been verbally and physically abusing me.
I walked to mani looking in seeing that she was still asleep I smiled sadly knowing that last night put her through a lot of trauma
"Imma get us out, I promise" I whispered kissing her cheek before walking out to the room
Once I got to my room I went to my bathroom and started the shower letting the water warm up. I stood in the bathroom mirror and began taking off my clothes layer by layer. How could she? A person I once loved with everything in me, I loved her enough to carry her egg even though I wasn't ready for kids. I gave up a lot to be with just for her to treat me like her damn punching bag whenever something goes wrong.
