"If I tip well, will you tip me after your shift?" A creepy old man asked, winking at me and reaching towards me.
"I'd rather kill myself." I slapped down the debit machine and walked away, crossing my arms.
"Another old perv?" Cassady asked, and I nodded.
"Probably going to ask to talk to you about my 'attitude problem' like the other twenty did." I huffed. "I'm fucking sick of being treated like a piece of meat, or something to be just purchased. This is ridiculous."
"At least I keep you around, hun." She smiled at me. "Most restaurants don't take kindly to such behaviour, no matter how much it's deserved, Am."
"And thats bullshit!" I punched the table we sat at. "There is no excuse for ridiculous behaviour like this, and I shouldn't be the one to be punished for it!"
"I know, I know." She gently rubbed my back. "How about you head home early?"
"I can't afford to head home even a second early." I groaned. "The landlords raised the rent."
"They can't do that!" Cassady almost shouted, before covering her mouth and lowering her voice. "Why haven't you reported them?"
"Even with the raise in price, it's the only place I can afford, Cas. You know this. If I try to fight the raise, they're going to kick me out."
"Here, I'll pay you for your full shift for today and tomorrow, with some overtime. If you come in to my restaurant for any work, before Thursday, I will end you."
"Thank you so much." I hugged her. "Being rich sure has its perks, huh?"
"It's the only reason you keep me around." She winked.
"You know its not!" I whined. "Looks like the lame ass wants to see you though. I'll stop by tomorrow for some breakfast, okay?"
"Okay, take care." She gave me a wave, and walked off to the old dickhead.
I headed to the staff room, giving a brief wave to the kitchen before putting my coat over my uniform and getting my bag.
The restaurant was nice, and the staff were great. My only issues, to be honest, were the stupid customers. The majority weren't bad, of course. To be honest, a lot of them were nice. I was thankful for the kind ones, and I was very thankful for Cassady.
