As soon as Aven and I arrived at the Meyarin Palace, Aven took me by the hand and led me away from the party.

"Alex, I have a surprise for you, that I really hope you'll like," he says. I squeeze his hand in response and he leads me to the surprise. Aven's surprise means more to me than he would ever know. It reminds me of the life I'm leaving, the life I'm aiming to forget. His surprise was the mortals that were visiting Meya only a few weeks before. His surprise is giving me the chance to say goodbye to my future as a mortal. My blood has already turned silver, Meyarin senses are already always on and Xira says my soul feels immortal. There's no point in going back to the future, especially because I think I've fallen for Aven. Aven sees my smile, but also the sadness in my eyes.

"Alex, what's wrong do you not like my present?" Aven asks, tears start falling like a trickle in a stream. "Oh, shit Alex did I make you cry?" He gently takes my head in his hands and starts kissing my tears away. I shake my head.

"Why are you crying then?" He enquires.

"I've decided to stay in Meya," I reply, his eyes and mouth lit to a grin. "I'm just worried I won't fit in." I smile sadly at how accurate the explanation is. He shakes his head.

"If you can't then I won't either," Aven says before kissing me.
