BEEP BEEP I sigh as I roll over to smack the alarm, the bright lights flash into my eyes flashing 7:35:27 am. Already 27 seconds late- great. My clothes are already laid out for me from the night before, the same school dress matched with the pale white socks and the itchy school jersey. I get ten minutes to get ready for school, usually five minutes of that time is halved into having a shower but today it's different, and I get a full ten minutes which I need. I prepare myself for school; brushing out the strange positions of my blonde hair.

My Dad shouts at me from downstairs 'ten minutes are up Layna!' I rush downstairs grabbing my bag on the way down, the smell of burnt toast and orange juice fills my lungs as I step onto the last step.

7:45.22 My watch flashes, "23 seconds late" My Dad mutters before pulling out a chair for me, the table holds a plate of burnt toast, my Dad was never the one to make toast I suppose; carton of milk, box of muesli and the remaining jug of orange juice. I grab the least burnt pieces of toast hoping my Dad won't mind, my watch beeps 7:53:18; Two minutes.
