The elevator makes a sound which washes some relief to me. I step in with the box and find the person I saw months ago in the hospital. Before I could even ask his name, he steps off, never glancing at me. I planted my feet on the floor the entire ride down to the first floor.

Removing my badge, I place it in front of me and the security guard, who always greets me every morning. "What's wrong? You quit or something?" He asks.

"Or something," I begin and add, "Mr. Diaz fired me. I think they'll replace me."

With all this, I still couldn't bring myself to this reality. The security guard suddenly stiffens, which makes me look behind me.

"Whose Kayleigh?" the guy from earlier asks or rather shouts. I automatically raise my hand like I'm in high school. His gaze shifts over to my hand and then to my face. He points while walking over, and once he's near me, he halts.

"You killed my wife."

This sets me off. Irritation simmers inside. "Mr. Diaz has fired me and you come here and accuse me of what I didn't do. I'm leaving" I take the box and flee. I've never dealt with anyone this rude. Before I can call a taxi and run off back to my cozy apartment, a strong hand puts me in place. "I'm sorry, that was rude"

"It sure is" My lips were about to utter, but instead I replied, "What did you mean when you said I killed your wife?"

He said he'll explain on the way, and took me to his car. To my surprise it was filled with what were supposed to be toys for a baby. I shove these 'toys' aside and slide in comfortably. He still doesn't seem to care one bit or he wasn't paying the car seat much attention. It makes no difference to me, so I won't say a word.

"Good riddance for the job of yours"

"Excuse me?" I reply, unsure if I heard something in his tone. In an effort to break the silence, I say, "Nearest toy store".

When he glances at me from the side, I want to laugh so hard, but I hold back, letting myself only chuckle mildly. The car stops suddenly and before I know it, he opens the door. I raised my eyebrow in confusion although I already knew the answer. "Go ahead" he gives me his credit card and I gladly accept the card and run into the store to get his child something appropriate, and something a child that size can use.

"It's ridiculous"

"What's ridiculous?" The cashier inquires.

"Nothing. What's the total?" I retort.

I pay with my card and go straight to the car which makes his jaws drop to the floor. "What's all this?" he asks.

"It's for the baby. Now open the trunk" I gestured with my head to the backside of the car.
