George's pov
My eyes flick across my messy bedroom, clothes, books and all sorts covering the usually nice looking floor but you can't see it under all my clattered things.
I pick up a book, I don't read the title because I'm pound to have already read it anyway, as I open the book to read it there's a knock on the door.
"Come in" I say closing the book and standing, the door opens and a man in armor steps in my bedroom.
He has dirty blonde hair and green eyes.
I study his figure from up and down, he scans my messy room them looks at me, "your supposed to b out of your room now your majesty" he says, I stare into his green eyes then groan.
The ball.
"Just call me George" I say walking into my bathroom, "I can't call you that your majesty" he answers, "your in my bed chambers, no ones here, only me, not like anyone's gonna like execute you if you call me it once" I say taking my suit of the hanger.
"The ball starts in 10 minutes..George" the door closes telling me he left.
I laugh a little then get changed into my suit quickly.
I exit my room, squinting them the brightness of the light in the castle.
The guard from earlier is waiting outside.
"Are you supposed to just follow me everywhere now?" I ask quickly rushing our a large hallways, he follows.
"I'm supposed to make sure you don't get into any trouble" he says quietly.
"Not like I'm gonna sneak out my window, I'd die jumping down" I say, my room is very high up in the castle.
"Never said you would" he answers, "what's your name?" I ask, "that is private" he answers, "if your gonna follow me everywhere you gotta tell me your name?" I say.
"Clay" he answers.
"Wait so what do you do?" I ask, "I'm the captain of the guards" he says, I stop and look at him, "what happened to the last one?" I ask, "I've been captain of the guards for 5 years" he pushes me lightly on he shoulder to keep walking.
"How come I didn't know?" I ask, "because you don't come out of your room" he says I shrug, "that's fair" I say.
We reach where my dad and older brother is waiting to enter the ball.
Of course we have to enter together.
"George your almost 15 minutes late" my dad says annoyed, "I was busy" I say, "he was doing nothing but doodling about" clay speaks up.
"Bloody hell George, this will not happen again" my dad says.
A woman comes in.
My dad's girlfriend.
She's wearing a large poofy pink dress.
I lean down and she places a crown on my head.
"Alright lets go" my father says.
I'm forced to lock my elbows with my dad's girlfriend going in because of course, I am not the crowned prince and no one cares about me.
I don't care though.
I don't want to be a king.
Clay follows us in, behind us.
Then stands by the stage where we all take our seats on the thrones.
"Welcome everyone to this ball, I hope for a grand time and for many to meet there true soulmate" my dad announces.
My eyes scan the ground and all the woman in big dresses.
My eyes stop on clay who's staring back at me.
I look away as music plays and my older brother stands.
We don't get along very well.
He walks to his girlfriend and takes her hand, leading her to the dance floor.
They take the first dance.
Then everyone else joins in, including my dad and his bitchy girlfriend.
I stand and walk to the drinks and take a wine glass of champagne.
The expensive shit my family seems to think is good.
I take a sip of the rich drink and watch as everyone dances.
"Not dancing?" I hear clays voice, "not really my thing" I say and look at him.
"Yeah me neither" he says and looks around the crowd.
I put down my glass, "that stuff is shit" I sigh, "watch you mouth in public" clay warns, I roll my eyes walking past to the exit.
"You can't leave your majesty" clay says tugging me back, I groan.
I look around the crowd, "George!" I hear my old bestfriend say.
I turn, "hey" I smile, she pulls me into a hug, I hug back faintly.
Hugs aren't really my thing.
"Not dancing?" She asks pulling away, "of course not" I say, "don't be pussy" she laughs, "no thank you" I say as I step back.
