"You know, I expected a warmer welcome." Peter tutted, watching the claw marks on his arm heal. He fixed the sleeve of his shirt calmly before returning his gaze to the now seventeen year old in front of him.
"You're supposed to be dead." Scott glared, his chest still rising and falling dramatically with panicked breaths.
"And you're supposed to be mine." He growled.
Peter stalked forward. He grabbed Scott's chin, his nails extended in warning. He turned the boys face around to inspect him.
"You cut your hair. Makes you look older." He observed softly, not caring that the boy was trying to flinch away from him.
"Still the same pretty face." Peter smiled in a way that Scott assumed the man would describe as loving.
Scott tugged himself away, backing up to put distance between them. "Don't."
"Don't what, baby?" Peter cooed, standing his ground.
Scott was stubborn, hard-headed. But he could be broken. Peter knew that first hand. He had to be patient, let the boy wear himself out, physically and mentally. He would give in then, become putty in Peter's arms. He would have his boy back after everything.
"You know, Scott," he continued, watching as the young beta tried to answer his previous question. "I'm a little offended that you've joined my nephews pack. He took me from you and yet you still side with him." Peter's voice rose slightly to the end, making his statement more of an accusation.
"I had to." Scott's reasoned, his fists clenching at his sides. "The kanima-"
"Oh baby, don't lie to me." Peter rolled his eyes, tutting.
Scott's mouth snapped shut. Peter revelled in his ability to control the boy after everything.
"You didn't join Derek because of the kanima. You joined because you missed me, missed what we had. Didn't you?"
Scott gulped at the threatening tone. He shook his head, not wanting to give the ex-alpha satisfaction. They didn't have a bond anymore, not since Derek had slashed Peter dead. Scott didn't have to give in to him anymore.
Peter took another step forward, watching as Scott once again scrambled for something to say.
"You missed being looked after. You wanted a new alpha to fill that void. It's okay, I understand."
Scott looked at the man in shock. He didn't understand how Peter could be so understanding about any of it. Scott had helped to kill him, he had betrayed him.
Peter smiled at the teens confusion. "It doesn't matter that I'm no longer an alpha." His tone was slightly bitter. "We will always share our bond. The creator and the created. That's why I'll overlook your role in my death, for the time being. I know me leaving hurt you, pup."
Scott could feel his walls melting away at Peter's soft yet controlling tone and his pet name. He unintentionally let out a small sound similar to a whimper.
Peter was suddenly in his space, cradling his face and cooing to him in the same voice he used to use. Back when Scott was his. "It's okay, sweetheart. It's not your fault."
Scott found himself leaning into the touch, nuzzling his cheek against the larger hand on his face. He tuned out most of the older mans words, just enjoying his presence. Despite what he told himself, he had missed him.
"We'll always be pack, no matter the colour of our eyes. Though we will need to work on that. But we can start on that tomorrow."
Scott frowned as the words sunk through the fog that had filled his brain. He gently pulled out of Peter's embrace.
