Every day I stand in front of the abandoned bungalow and stare. A yard filled with dust, rotten vegetables and broken lamps made the bungalow look like it was a witch's potion centre. The smell of the burnt grass always amazed me.
I decided to go inside the bungalow. I touched the rusty handle of the door which gave me a thrill. The door made a creaking sound which sent shivers down my spine. As soon as I opened the door I saw some white gloomy eyes staring at me. They were bats hanging who seemed like they were waiting for me. The bats flew out of the door disappearing into the pitch-black night.
I entered the living room. There were creepy marks and stains on the wall like claw marks and stains of blood. The walls seemed like they were screaming at me in pain. The sofas in the room were torn. Windows were broken. The broken glass pieces were as sharp as a butcher's knife. There were cobwebs in every corner of the bungalow. There was a terrifying silence and all I could hear was the ticking of the clock, which was still working.
The sudden noise from the kitchen scared me even more. I ran to the kitchen to see if anyone was there. The bulb in the kitchen was flickering. The tap was dripping and all I could see were rusted utensils and a blood-stained knife. It seemed like a murder has taken place there. It was a very horrifying sight.
There were broken wooden stairs which led upstairs. I went up. There was a huge doorway with many rooms attached to it. To my right, I saw a room with a rusted lock on it. I started looking for the key as I was expecting it to be hidden somewhere nearby. I searched everywhere but could not find it. It wasn't unlocked before but now it was. It felt creepy but I decided to peek inside. There were stacks of wooden boxes covered in dust, dirty clothes, etc. I thought of exploring other rooms as I wanted to cover as many rooms as I could.
There was a big bedroom on my left side. In the middle of the room was a fallen chandelier. It was made of glass which was now broken into pieces. It must have been so beautiful in its days. Wires were hanging leading to a spark every 2 seconds.
In the corner of the room was a rocking chair. After some time the chair started to rock. I saw some dark spooky shadows roaming in the room. The shadows were like witches who were ready to kill me the second I came in front of them. I felt like someone was behind me. I turned around but no one was there. I was scared out of my wits….But then, the clock in the living room turned twelve and made a sudden big noise. My heart skipped a beat. As soon as it was twelve the rocking chair stopped rocking and the shadows vanished in thin air. I ran out of the bungalow and decided never to go back again.
