Once they arrived in Celdic, Toad noticed something was off, despite the town being peaceful.
Toad: something's not right here.
Alisa: I agree.
They went to the marketplace and heard a commotion from 2 of the stalls. Apparently one of the merchants was blaming the other for stealing their merchandise. In another stall, 2 drunken provincial officers was harassing a female merchant so Toad stepped in.
Toad: hey hey hey hey hey! What are you bozos doing with that girl?!
Drunken soldier: *slurred* get lost kid. Mind your own business.
Toad: you don't get it do you bozos? When a person is in trouble, I just gotta help. It's kinda my thing. So you'd better leave so as not to cause trouble.
Drunken soldier: tch. Whatever.
The soldiers left but not before trying to take a glance at Alisa which earned a rock being thrown at the soldier.
Alisa: what's with those guys? The way they looked at me creeped me out.
Toad: the next one's going into their eyes if they ever try that again.
Alisa: (Toad protected me. He really does care. I need to tell him that I love him as soon as possible.)
The group decided to investigate a little more and noticed that other stalls were the same as the others.
Toad: if the provincial army were supposed to protect the town, why aren't they helping the townspeople?
Laura: Toad. Have you noticed the hummers near the train station?
Toad: yeah I have. What's that about?
Alisa: they're the railway military police. They belong to the empire.
Toad: that makes a lot of sense.
