It was a beautiful day in Central Park, the sun was shining and the breeze was just nice.

The park was relatively empty for such a gorgeous day and Lily was thankful for that.

Settling down on a park bench she thought about everything that had happened the past few days and needed to clear her head.

On Monday she had learnt about her parents going through a mutual divorce, then learning that the guy she had a crush on, Ethan, didn't feel the same way, that was enough to break a girl. But that wasn't the worst part, the guy she liked, had a crush on her best friend, Alex, and she felt the same way. It made her feel selfish that she didn't know how her best friend felt.

That all happened in 3 days, and now being Friday, Lily thought about the previous day.

It was one of the greatest days of her life. She didn't know how it happened, it just did and she was glad.

She'd been avoiding Alex since she found out how Ethan felt about her and yesterday was no exception. She and Alex used to walk home together after school, but lately, it's been a solo walk for Lily. That's when she bumped into the school's hotshot, Luke.

At first he was a jerk, tagging along and annoying her, so she just ignored him and carried on walking. Then out of nowhere, Luke stopped Lily and stared at her.

Lily just glared back and tried to push past him, but Luke wouldn't let her go and finally asked what was wrong with her.

At first Lily denied having anything wrong with her and gave a snarky comment about how he was her only problem. But Luke still wouldn't budge so she gave up and motioned for him to follow her to a nearby bench by the side of the pathway.

She then told him a vague version of the past three days and through all of it, he didn't say anything, didn't laugh, just listened intently and nodded once in awhile showing that he was still listening.

When she was done, she looked at him expecting him to make fun of her and walk off, but he didn't. He instead surprised her by standing up and holding his hand out for her.

"Do you trust me" he said

And in return she just stared at him.

"Do you trust me" he asked again.

She slowly nodded her head as a response and took his outstretched hand.

In that moment she wondered if she had just made a huge mistake, but now she knows that it was the best decision she ever made.

Glancing down at her watch, she saw the time and sighed. Took one final look out at the fairly empty park and got up from her seat to make her way to her best friend's house. They had a lot to talk about, but the most important one of all, was about them. She hoped it would all be okay.

Getting into her car she took her phone out and smiled at the message she received.

She had a feeling that it was all going to be okay.
