When I got back to Glory Bell after catching up with the genius trio, I noticed something was off. No one was outside except Sabrina, and I immediately swallowed when I noticed her piercing glare was directed straight at me.
Wracked with fear, I stood still, staring at her in shock. I didn't know what to do. I'd never thought I'd actually get caught, but obviously I was careless and left a clue of some sort.
'Maybe my act earlier wasn't good enough? What if she found out that the rope from the storage room was missing? Did she follow me to the wall? Did she check her tracking device while I was away?' Thoughts of how she could have found out seeped into my brain as I was still stuck to the ground.
I thought of running, but she'd catch me eventually, especially seeing as we lived in an enclosed area - nowhere much I can go. Then Sabrina started walking towards me.
A cold sweat ran down the back of my neck and I swallowed again. Could this really be happening? What if I was shipped and I died for the second time, before the real journey even began? That would definitely be bad.
When Sabrina reached me, I was visibly shaking and sweating. "Well, where have you been?" I looked up into her cold, emotionless eyes and felt as terrified as when those thugs killed me. "Umm... out?" She seemed slightly confused at my answer, but brushed it off.
"When did you find out and where have you been?" I shuddered at her cold tone but tried to speak. "W-well, I found out a month ago. Since then, I've been going all the wall to see if there's anywhere can get across the cliff."
I was still shaking slightly from nerves, but I couldn't help being scared. I hadn't been able to think of a good lie that would work in the situation, so I just had to admit that I'd been up the wall. There wasn't much else I could do anyway, she's obviously used the tracking device and seen how far I'd gone.
She must have called everyone back and told them to go inside, working out who it was that had managed to get over the wall. "So you know about what's going on here, and I assume you also know that there are other farms just like this one. What do you plan on doing? In my opinion, you should just give up."
I backed away a little and blinked. She really was scary without her act on. I decided that the best course of action would be to pretend I'd given up. "Alright then. I'll give up and die peacefully. Will you ship me out? Or will you let me live and reach my highest potential as merchandise?"
I looked her in the eyes and made a slightly forlorn face, hoping she'd believe that I'd given up and that she wouldn't ship me out immediately. "Alright then. I won't ship you out, not just yet, but if I see you going into the forest I won't hesitate to ship you out." She answered. I looked down and said "Ok mama."
