YEARS HAVE passed since the death of the Lord and Lady of the Lee family. The fortress burnt to ashes. The story of the Moon and Sun twins became a myth. A legend.

No one has ever seen the youngest member of the Lee family, and had just assumed that she had died in the fire as well as the rest of the family. But really, the girl was hidden from the outside world and was forbidden from ever stepping out of her safeplace.

Seven years later, rumors had spread that the once legend, Lee Byeol; the Moon protector, would be making her debut once more as a soon to be bride. Her betrothed, no other than Seo Yul. The intelligence of the Seo's family.

Their betrothal wasn't confirmed yet to the public, but it was in the making.

Although Byeol had lost her family, leaving her no place to lead or take over, she still bears the title that is higher than the royal family. Being granted the ability to control the moon and the sun was similar to being a God or Goddess. They only existed within the line of the Lee family, and for generations, it has been only the males that became these heaven sent beings.

Byeol was the first female mage to become one of them.

And probably the last.

The Seo family had agreed to have Byeol under their wing, and gave her a home, but only with one condition. Which was a marriage between two members of two noble families. It wasn't a problem for Byeol, but Yul didn't technically admire the idea of being tied to someone.

Nevertheless, a girl who he had never met nor had a single conversation with.

He'd seen her once during her arrival in Songrim, before returning to the Jang household to hide from the world – in which he didn't understand why she wanted to in the first place. She was small, and fragile, and never uttered a single word during her stay. She had a veil to cover her face, so no one knows what she looked like. All the past records of the Lee family, and portraits had been burned, and people who knew of the family had either died or forgotten about them.

Lee Byeol was a mystery that no one could crack.

Seo Yul —

GATHERED OUTSIDE, the residents of Songrim waited for the special guest to arrive. Everyone was up early to prepare for the arrival of the youngest member of the late Lee family.

Years after her last visit to Songrim which was 4 years ago, they – as in Master Heo, were excited to see her once more for he and the noble had a close relationship like grandfather and granddaughter. But even he had not seen how she truly looked like.

Seo Yul stood next to Dang-gu reluctantly. He was interrupted from his readings when his friend came barreling in, announcing his soon to be wife's arrival. It's not that he does not like her, but rather the lack of knowledge he had of her.

He would turn to the books as people had claimed that The Lee Byeol to be a legend, but his source of knowledge had failed him. There was no information about the Lee family as if they were erased from history.

It's a bit skeptical, Yul thought.

Yet he had no choice but to obey the decision made by his parents to take the girl's hand in marriage. His family had sympathized for Byeol despite her having a higher status than the rest of the mages. Even higher than the royal family. They saw her as an equal human being but Yul didn't understand why. With the ability to control the moon and the stars, mastering all the stages as a mage without the aid of a master, even Tansu, he sees Byeol as a whole other being but a mere human.
