The rain stopped a few more moments after Adrien started to cradle Y/n in his arms.
They laid there silently, at a stand still.
The only sound being the movement of their chest rising and falling, and the deep breaths they occasionally took.
After the sun started to shine through the clouds, slowly descending under the horizon, Y/n sat up. She moved her knees to her chest and rested her chin on her knees. Her eyes were lost, yet set, her mouth was formed into a small but content frown.
"What's wrong?" Adrien asked, sitting up as well.
"I need to tell you something-well- I need to tell you...y'know....everything..." Y/n trailed off, resting her arms between her legs.
Adrien sat closer to Y/n, at a distance to give her space but enough to where Y/n knew he was there to listen.
Y/n moved one of her legs from her chest, that same leg moving closer to Adrien until the tip of her shoe touched his. She was grateful for the space Adrien was giving her, but she also wanted the comfort of knowing that he was there, and apart of her was physically touching him.
"Go on." Adrien whispered, feeding his Kwami what looked to be cheese.
Y/n still hesitated, but Tikki rested herself onto Y/n's shoulder. Her little arms trying to hug
Y/n's shoulder made her feel calmer in a way.
So as soon as Y/n opened her mouth, words came tumbling out until she was breathless.
At some point, Y/n couldn't help but cry as she explained.
After her confession, Y/n found herself being cradled once again in Adrien's arms. She'd never felt so small before.
She could also feel Tikki's small hands wrapping themselves around Y/n's ear, and Adrien's Kwami planting himself onto Y/n's cheek.
Y/n was slowly starting to feel better, until she spared a glance up at Adrien's face.
Her face immediately fell.
He looked like he just saw someone get brutally murdered right in front of him.
His eyes were wide and filled with fear, Y/n could finally feel the small trembling in his hands. He wasn't looking at her either, he was staring straight ahead, like he was lost.
"Adrien...please say something." Y/n whispered.
Adrien almost jumped at the sound of Y/n's voice, he slowly looked down. His eyes mildly softening as he saw Y/n's equally horrified look.
"Marinette...," Adrien finally mumbled. "Marinette did this to you?" Adrien said.
Y/n looked down and stared at Adrien's arms, she nodded her head.
She could hear Adrien's shaky exhale and tried to shrink even more than she had already felt.
"I know what I have to do," Y/n broke the silence.
"But I need to see her, one last time." Y/n sat up a bit in Adrien's arms.
"Are you sure?" Adrien asked.
"Yes...I'm sure." Y/n said, her voice wavering but confident.
"Plagg, claws out," Adrien said, transforming into Chat Noir.
"Then I'll be with you every step of the way." Adrien lifted Y/n up with ease.
Out of instinct, Y/n wrapped her hands around his neck, causing the two to be closer than they already were.
Y/n lightly laughed, resting her head on Adrien's chest.
"My hero.""Gosh, we've been gone for awhile. Your parents must be worried." Adrien scratched the back of his neck as they landed onto Y/n's balcony.
"Actually, they're not home, they haven't been since a few days ago..." Y/n sighed, opening her trapdoor-like window.
"Are they always gone this often?" Adrien asked as they crawled through the window.
"It's why we moved here, they're owners of this big company, travel was more expensive when we lived in the U.S since most of their work was in Europe. Moving here made life easier for them, not much for me though," Y/n couldn't help but laugh a bit.
"I wouldn't change it though, I got to meet you, didn't I?" Y/n smiled contently at Adrien.
Adrien sighed and shook his head, a soft smile playing on his lips.
"Okay, let's get you to bed." Adrien said.
After Y/n had settled under the covers, Adrien made sure everything was nice and comfortable. Adrien tucked her in a de- transformed
Tikki and Adrien's Kwami, Plagg, sat on Tikki's bed.
Adrien crouched next to Y/n, his hands clutching Y/n's firmly into his.
"Could you- could you tell her something for me? While you're...you know...in there?" Adrien said.
"Of course Adrien, what is it?" Y/n yawned, the events from the past few days catching up to her.
"Tell her-tell her that I'm happy. Happier without her. Tell her that I finally found my someone, but I hope she finds her peace. Will you tell her that for me?" Adrien pleaded.
Y/n sat up a bit, squeezing Adrien's hand that was still tightly clinging onto her's.
"Of course." Y/n replied gently, laying back down until she was comfortable.
She could feel Adrien's hand slipping away from her's, but she fastened her grip.
"Um, could you please stay close to me? At least until I fall asleep?" Y/n asked.
She could feel Adrien's stare on her as he crouched back down and leaned his back against the wall, his hand holding onto Y/n's still.
"Sure Peebs, anything for you." Adrien replied.
Y/n smiled a bit as she closed her eyes, awaiting sleep to wash over her.
And it did, sending her spiraling down into her own consciousness, waiting to finally face Marinette for the last time.Y/n could feel the tension as soon as she saw Marinette's pissed off stare.
But Y/n stood her ground.
She didn't change the stupid background of her conscious, and she didn't have them play a petty game of chess with their favorite drinks.
She.Was.Over.It.
Marinette marched towards Y/n and pointed an accusing finger at her.
"What did you do?!" Marinette yelled.
"I took away your power over me." Y/n crossed her arms.
"NO! I was just trying to protect you!" Marinette stomped her foot.
"By sending a mentally unstable, akumatized, hallucination of Chat Noir to haunt me everyday?! You were just trying to protect yourself because you now regret the decision you have made and are jealous because now Adrien is finally happy without you." Y/n cast a dark glare at Marinette.
"You're lying!" Marinette grit her teeth.
Y/n shook her head and sat down on the ground.
"He wanted me to tell you that himself. That he is happier without you. That he's finally found someone who he knows will be there for him always. Me."
Y/n spoke.
Marinette's knees buckled as she fell to the ground, her face distraught as she stared at the white floor.
"But," Y/n continued, signing as she did so. "He also wanted me to tell you that he hopes you find peace." Y/n said.
"Did he really say that?" Marinette whispered.
Y/n hesitantly put a hand on her knee, causing Marinette to stare up at her.
"He did, and I know he means it." Y/n said.
Marinette nodded her head and frowned a bit.
Y/n took a deep breath as she got up, leaving Marinette on the floor.
"I was able to give Chat Blanc his peace, now let me give you yours." Y/n said.
"What do you mean?" Marinette looked up at her.
"I think you know exactly what I mean," Y/n almost spat, her anger from everything slowly building up.
"You've controlled my happiness for too long Marinette, you're no longer in control of me or my life, I am." Y/n pointed her thumb to herself.
"He's going to eventually hurt you." Marinette scoffed a bit, staring up at Y/n.
Y/n crouched back down to be eye level with Marinette.
Y/n smiled, tilting her head to the side.
"No, he won't. Goodbye Marinette." Y/n snapped her fingers.
Everything started to disintegrate like pixels around Y/n.
Y/n stood up as she took in everything around her.
The walls, the ceiling, the endless white void all around her started to vanish.
Y/n stared down as she saw Marinette slowly disappear.
She saw Marinette's angered face turn soft as she smiled to herself than back up at Y/n, a small tear falling from her face.
Y/n stared down at her until eventually, she disappeared.
Along with everything else.Y/n gasped as she sat up fast in her bed.
Adrien and the Kwami's immediately rushed to her side.
Y/n panted a bit, turning her lamp on to see their faces.
"So?" Adrien anxiously fiddled with his hands.
"She's gone." Y/n finally took a deep breath.
Y/n noticed the small twinge of pain in Adrien's eyes as he sat down beside Y/n.
He closed his eyes and placed his hand on top of Y/n's which were still clutching onto her blanket.
"What now?" Adrien asked, rubbing his eyes.
"Now," Y/n shakily breathed. "Now for the hard part." Y/n looked at Tikki.
Tikki flew closer to Y/n until Y/n took her in with her fingers, hugging Tikki using her cheek.
Still holding Tikki with her hands, Y/n inhaled deeply.
"I promise I'll fix you," Y/n whispered.
Before Tikki or anyone else could reply, Y/n quickly spoke again.
"Tikki I renounce you." Y/n shakily spoke as she clumsily took her earrings off.
Tikki vanished into them, earning a panicked sound from Plagg.
"Y/n, what are you doing?" Adrien asked frantically.
"Do you trust me?" Y/n held her earring gently in her hands.
"I-yes, of course I do." Adrien replied.
"Breaking the miraculous will break the bond Tikki has with any of the previous holders, including Marinette. Marinette was able to haunt my mind because of mine and her connection to the ladybug miraculous. By breaking it, Marinette will never be able to hurt me or you ever again." Y/n quickly explained.
"Are you sure we'll will be able to fix her?" Adrien asked.
Y/n held the earrings close to her chest and squeezed her eyes shut for a few seconds before gently placing them on the ground.
"Yes, I'm positive," Y/n put her shoes on.
"I will not let her down." Y/n said, crushing the miraculous with her feet.
Grabbing her phone and putting the flash on, Y/n, Adrien and Plagg searched for every piece of the miraculous and placed them on her nightstand until every fragment was collected.
"We'll see Masted Su Han tomorrow, we'll be able to fix her." Y/n shakily said, anxiety washing over her.
Adrien placed a hand on her shoulder, gently squeezing it and pulling her into a hug.
"We will. Marinette will never be able to hurt us again, and we can finally be the heroes we want to be. I promise."LAST CHAPTER IS NEXT WEEK! WHOOP!
