Chapter 5

As I was walking home from school with my Walkman on listening to "Lucy in the sky with diamonds" when a black van parked right next to me.

"Hey. Your a very pretty girl you know that" he said suspiciously. "Thank you" I said slowly back up. "Don't be shy...I don't bite" he said with a crooked smile.

He walked closer to me and grabbed me spraying something in my eyes that knocked me out cold.

I woke up on a cold mattress in a dark basement. "F-Finney?" I said but there was no one there. "Finneys not here right now" a groggy voice said.

"You killed him" I said angrily. "No, No, No pretty girl I-I don't kill" he said. "No you just kidnap" I added.

"I wanna go home. Robin and Gwen there gonna come for me" I said confidently. "No they won't. You don't think they actually care about you" he replied.

"Your a kid you like soda right? I'll bring you a soda" he said walking upstairs and closing the door.

I started too sob uncontrollably looking at the wall until I heard tapping. I turned and looked at the window and saw Robin and Gwen.

I jumped up and stood in front of the window banging on the glass. Gwen mouthed "we'll be right back" and they were gone.

Okay, there coming. Thank god I would rather not spend another second in the hell hole. I sat back on the bed looking at the ceiling.

Until I drifted off too sleep. I woke up to a tapping on a foot. "Can I have food please" I pleaded. "No. Not yet" he said.

"They why did you come down here" I asked. "Just took look at you. Admire you if you must" he said getting up and leaving.

He left the door cracked open as he exited. As I was about to go upstairs I heard a phone ringing.

I picked up this mysterious black phone. "Don't go upstairs" the unknown person said. "He upstairs with that fucking belt" they added.

"Who are you?" I asked. "It's all a little hazy. I delivered newspapers" they said. Billy showalter.

Until I heard screaming and gunshots come from upstairs. I dropped the phone and ran to the opposite side of the room hiding behind the wall.

Then I saw it was the police. They came for me. Gwen and Robin ran down the stairs. Gwen attached herself to me and when she let go...

Robin embraced my in the tightest and safest hug. We stayed there for a while just enjoying each other's company.

When we pulled apart he looked me in my eyes and planted the softest kiss on my lip. And I started breaking down.

A crying mess on the ground. Robin picked me up and carried me out bridal style up the stairs and out of the house.

He brought me home and my mom was sobbing on the couch. As soon as we walked in my mom ran to me tackle hugging me.

"Mamá can Robin stay over" I said earning a nod from her. We walked up the stairs together in silence.

I just plopped on my bed staring out the window. Completely zoned out. Until I felt a warm hand on my shoulder.

"hermosa, are you okay" Robin said softly. "How the fuck am I suppose to be okay?! I was kidnapped and put in a dirty basement! Honestly Robin" I said basically just word vomiting.

"I'm sorry" he said shyly. "No, it's fine. Word vomit I guess" I added. I looked into his eyes staring into the brown beauties.

"Your what kept me going. You and Gwen. Mainly you. Your what kept me from letting him get me. All you" I said looking at my hands.

He put his fingers under my chin to lift up my head to face him. "Will you be my girlfriend" he said softly.
