Raftaar Singh Vohra
"I don't get why I have to come!" I whined.
Jashan is forcing me to come to the orphanage with her, Kanwar, the babies, Sunny, and Deep.
"Arreyaar! Just shut up and come!" Kanwar rolled his eyes. If he wasn't my brother and best friend I would've punched his lousy ass.
"I have to work. Aman needs me," I lied. Aman is away on a mission and they know that too. I thought that coming to the mansion with Sunny and Deep will give me a break and i wont worry about Hargun as much.
"I'm not coming, you guys go," I slumped down on the couch.
"Raftaar! Just shut up and come!" Jashan shouted. I shut up.
One thing I've learned over the years is to never mess with a mother, and she's the mother of 3 kids. Plus, she's mom's carbon copy.
Deep and Sunny looked as if they would burst into laughter any minute now. I shot them a glare.
I felt a tug at my jeans. I looked down to see Gurveer pouting. I bent down and picked them up before setting them on either side of my hip.
"Chachu, please come," The girls pouted looking at me and Sunny. We both chuckled and nodded.
Let's see what this has in store for me...
We reached the orphanage after a long drive. Considering we stopped like 50 times so Jashan could yell at the kids. She's just like mom when we were younger.
"Yo, Jashan, take a chill pill," Sunny joked. Jashan glared at him. He shut up. Deep and I fell to the ground laughing.
"OyePagala, you know better than to mess with Jashan. She's a mini version of Mumma," Deep laughed.
"Tusidonomaintojuttiannaka lo" Jashanthreathened.
"Vaddi aye jutti," Sunny muttered. Poor kid received a flying shoe on his butt. Kanwar and I cracked up. "I'm sorry mata!" He yelped in pain.
"You come here!" she shouted and he made a run for it. Who knew, that after 3 kids, she could run so fast? Nevermind. I forgot that she's mom's carbon copy.
"I remember when we were growing up, we would be chased around the house with a belna and chappal."
"Once, mumma got so mad at Jashan and me that she chased me around the house with a butcher's knife. Poor Harry was also dragged into that. He almost lost his dick and legs that day. Jashan almost lost her wrist and I almost lost my left leg." Deep laughed
"Mummy would scare the shit out of us, but she was the one who loved us most."
"Can we please go in? You can beat Sunny up at home too. I'm sure Lalli would love to help in that," Kanwar rolled his eyes.
"Anyways..."
I bumped into someone.
"AH!" That stupid girl spilled my coffee!
"Asu, are you ok?" Another girl asked the girl who spilled my coffee as she handed her napkins.
"It's burning badly," the coffee girl whimpered.
She turned around. His eyes were piercing into mine.
"Are you mute? Do you not have a mouth to apologize?" she snapped.
"Girls like you just bump into men for attention. You don't care about values at all," I growled. What the hell? What did I just say?
"Who do you think you are, huh? Some king? Well, let me open your eyes and tell you that you're no king or prince. You're just an arrogant beast!" she shouted.
"Asmani, let's go!"
"Thats the girl I spilt coffee on!"
"Kutteya, is that how you act? You burned the poor girl's hand!" Jashan shouted at me.
"Sorry, Jashan" I whispered.
"I'm not the person you should be saying sorry to..." She sighed before she walked away.
We walked into the orphanage and the kids ran off to play with their friends. My heart warmed seeing all of these kids so happy.
My eyes roamed the playground and locked on this one little girl sitting on the bench alone. Sunny and I walked over and sat next to her.
"Hi, I'm Raftaar and this is my friend, Deep. What's your name?" I smiled at her.
"Kirleen," she whispered.
"What a beautiful name for a beautiful girl," Deep grinned causing the little girl to blush.
"How old are you, Kirleen?" I asked, smiling. She showed me three fingers and smiled.
"Now, Kirleen, why aren't you playing?" I softly asked.
"No one wants to play with me" she pouted before she began crying.
"Aww, kiddo, don't cry. How about you play with us?" I asked. She looked up at me and grinned.
She grabbed our hands before pulling us towards the swings.
Sunny and her sat on the swings as I pushed them both.
"Kiru, who are they?" A girl who doesn't look a day over 20 walked over to us. Wait! She's the girl I spilled coffee on. "Wait. You're the people from earlier." We sheepishly nodded. "You're the one who spilled coffee on me yesterday!"
"Asu! Asu! These are my new friends" Kirleen jumped off the swing and ran towards Asu.
What a beautiful name for a beautiful girl. Asmani.
My eyes locked with hers. The most beautiful eyes I've ever seen.
"Hi, I'm Deep Singh!" Deep shook her hand.
"I'm AsmaniKaur," she smiled.
"I'm Raftaar Singh," I introduced myself.
"Acha, I thought you're the arrogant coffee beast," she smirked.
"I deserve that. And I'm sorry," I smiled.
"It's okay I guess. And thank you for playing with Kirleen. She doesn't open up to anyone. She's had a very traumatic childhood," Asmani sadly smiled.
"I understand. But, Babaji does everything for a reason," I smiled.
"Yea, you're right," She nodded. "And Babaji is the one who fixes everything. He just sends us humans to do the job" She chuckled and I nodded, agreeing.
I have a feeling that Babaji also brought her into my life for a reason. After all, Paramatma does everything for a reason. I'm sure that there's a reason for our meeting...
