Chicago, 9:25 PM
After having cleaned the blood off his hands and left the corpse of Lirrazz, Erasmus stepped into a bar and sat down at the main table. Having ordered another Dead Man's Glory, he sat there, images flashing through his mind of what had been happening for the past two days. This had to end. If it didn't, soon enough, Erasmus would lose his mind. This was the final straw.
9:40 PM
Erasmus stepped out of the bar, going back on the hunt for Lex. All he had to do was shoot her and he would be able to rest. But then again, he still had to find the cognac, wherever Lex had hidden it. He passed by a policeman and the cop looked at him. He walked over to his car and reached inside, taking the radio.
"I have codes 10-29F, 10-29H and 487 at The Green Door Tavern. Be advised, suspect is extremely dangerous and possibly armed. Code 3."
"10-4." The policeman on the other side answered. "All units, be advised, codes 10-29F, 10-29H and 487 at The Green Door Tavern. Be advised, suspect is extremely dangerous and possibly armed. Code 3."
The policeman put away the radio and began to tail after Erasmus. The detective carried on his way, completely oblivious to the fact. He kept walking until suddenly, he heard sirens. Snapping his head around, he saw the cop behind him and the police cars that were chasing after him. Cursing, Erasmus ran as the pursuit began, himself falsely accused. The policeman chased after him. Erasmus continued on for some hundred metres and dived through multiple alleyways, zig zagging his way through the streets. The cops ran by him, having lost track. Erasmus sighed in relief and strolled about, being cautious. Spotting a familiar path, he followed it and found himself back at his office. He stepped inside and quickly closed the door behind himself, closing up the blinds. He then proceeded to nervously pace up and down, anxiety grabbing a tight hold of him. Bending over, he placed his palms down onto the desk and breathed heavily. Suddenly, his nails dug into his desk, scraping away some of the wood. He suddenly roared and proceeded to bang his desk repeatedly, releasing his fury. Grabbing the desk lamp, he threw it into the wall, shattering the bulb. Suddenly, he flipped his desk over, scattering everything all over the floor. Grabbing a bookcase, he heaved, toppling it to the floor, scattering the books everywhere. He then took a hold of his chair and threw it into the wall, cracking it, leaving a small hole where one of the wheels had gone through. He then doubled over and put his hands to his knees, seethed, panting. Erasmus unbent his back and then calmly walked over to his chair, uprighting it once more. He sat down at it and simply looked up at the ceiling with his eyes closed. After some moments, he bent his neck back into its original position and stood up, walking out. He walked for a couple hundred metres when suddenly, he heard a pair of faint voices. He stopped.
"What do you mean you don't know?!" The first voice asked loudly.
"I mean I don't know!" The second voice shouted. "What do you want me to do, travel through space and time?!"
Erasmus went up to a window and listened in.
"We are the only ones left! Fuck the rest!"
"Yes, I know, but we first have to find the goddamn cognac! Jesus! How thick are you?!"
Then it clicked. They were two criminals from the cognac heist that went awry. They were both planning on working together. Suddenly, their voices grew fainter and fainter until there was no sound at all. That was when the door burst open and Erasmus was dragged inside. The criminal pushed him up against the wall as the other one closed the door.
