Drayton was sitting at the head of the thirty-foot dining table eating lunch as Alexis sat at the opposite end. Dressed in a dress and sandals, notably, her posture was straight and rigid, her mouth closed while chewing, her legs crossed, and her silverware held in the proper hands; all things Drayton had been instilling in her and demanding of her.
The sound of silverware softly colliding with porcelain was the only sound the dining room currently yielded.
The door burst open.
Gwan Yin stormed into the huge room and made her way passed Alexis and along the right side of the table towards Drayton while looking back at Alexis. Reaching Drayton, she looked down the table at Alexis once again. Then looking at Drayton, she asked of her, "Who the fuck is this?"
"What are you doing here?" he asked.
Still looking at Alexis, Gwan Yin said, "That better not be what the Hell I think it is."
Alexis said nothing. She didn't even know how to react. She simply looked down the long stretching table at Drayton who finally said, "Alexis, excuse us."
Alexis stood and left the room.
"She looks awfully grown to be a child," Gwan Yin said. She then headed to Alexis' chair, grabbed her champagne glass and placed its content to her nose. Smelling white wine, she shook her head and said, "A child, Drayton? Are you serious?"
Dabbing the ends of his mouth with a handkerchief and tossing it to the table, he said lying, "She's the daughter of a valued associate. Get your mind out the gutter."
"My ass," she said, not believing him.
Lighting a cigar, he crossed his legs, leaned back into his chair and asked once again, "What are you doing here?"
"You going over my head now?" she asked as she approached him furiously.
Exhaling smoke casually, he said, "I don't know what you're taking about."
"The fuck you don't!" she yelled, now standing over him. "You went to my Goddamn father!"
"I did what needed to be done."
"You tattled like a little bitch. That's what the fuck you did!"
Drayton smirked, knowing just like she'd gotten underneath his skin back in the den of the family mansion, he was now getting underneath her skin here in his.
"Fucking coward!" she screamed at him.
Remaining calm, a smirk still on his face, his legs still crossed, he said, "Call me or what I did whatever you want. It doesn't change the fact that its time you learned to stay in your lane."
Shaking her head and narrowing her eyes, she said, "You really think that shit was cute, don't you?"
"Bitch, cute is for puppies and kittens. I'm grown."
Furious, she placed her hands on the arms of his chair like he'd done her back at the San Francisco mansion, placed her face in his and said, "This right here is your only damn warning. You ever go over my head again, fuck my father. I'll make sure your muthafuckin' body is never found."
Unfazed, he told her with a smirk, "Keep threatening me like that, Gwan Yin, and one of these days I'm going to disregard the fact that you're the mother of my children."
With that said, he exhaled smoke directly into her face.
Gwan Yin stood upright, the smoke evaporating around her, her eyes burning a hole through her ex-husband.
