She looks upon the mirror glass
A shattered image of the past
She likes to pretend this wasn't her
fault
But everyone knows her heart's an open vault
Not guarded by God or even common sense
She could still be with Him if she only repents
There's no time to hate, no time to lose
For as we speak she is tying a nooseAs she ties the knot she can't help but look back
To a time when the future didn't seem so black
For although her story may soon end
This isn't the beginning, I promise you friendsShe once had a friend that could've been her lover
Unfortunate for him she was in love with another
He cried inside until he just wanted to end it
One day their love was broken and they couldn't mend it
He thought that she would fall for him after they parted
But she found someone else and left her friend broken heartedAnd now her heart is broken beyond repair
Like a pane of glass thrown down a flight of stairs
The knot has been tied, and the note has been written
But in the doorway stands the friend that was smitten
He takes the rope from her hand and wipes the tears from her face
He crumpled the note and gave her a loving embrace
