I will not cry. I will not cry.
At least that's what I kept telling myself. But I knew that even as I thought those words, tears were flowing down my face like a river in a storm.
My heart felt as if it could burst from my chest, because I was so happy.
My mother, my real mother, was hugging me, telling me how much she missed me, how much she loved me.
My father smiled down at me with a shine of happiness in his eyes. I gave a smile back and jumped into his arms, burying my face in his chest softly crying.
Yes you heard me right. Me, Alexandra Rose, tough girl, was crying into my fathers chest. Cedric stood off to the side smiling brightly, not saying a word.
I turned my face towards him gave him a smile, and nodded. It was a simple way of saying,
"Thank you. "
He gave a gentle smile of his own and mouthed the words
"You're welcome"
It felt strange, just a few hours ago I was a normal girl with a normal life, and now I was a princess, a dragon princess at that!
And I've finally found parents who love me. I couldn't be happier than I am right now.
We were pulled out of our blissful moment by loud explosions and falling debris as the room began to shake and crumble.
BOOM!
CRASH!
BANG!
I clutched onto my mother while my father began shouting orders to surrounding guards.
" The black dragons are attacking, prepare the defenses and counterattack! The rest of you evacuate the civilians!"
I stood in the still shaking room, frozen in shock, unaware of what to do.
Faintly I could hear my mother and Cedric shouting at me,telling me that we had to get to safety, but I still didn't move.
Suddenly I began to feel off, something was wrong.
I slowly turned to say something when things went black and I collapsed, darkness swallowing me.
