"Get up, you still have loads of work to do!" I was startled by a banging fist on the metallic door. My tired orbs shifted to the sliding frame where pair of eyes are staring at me; the one I hate to see each morning. "Get up! Get up! Get u -"
"I'm up! Geez, what a disturbance!" I annoyingly threw my body into a sitting position, threading my fingers on my long hair while the police officer left to ruin the other prisoner's slumber, after he laughed at me of course.
I was already wide awake, but my thoughts are still wandering somewhere in the galaxy. My gaze moved towards the wall with carved chalks, reminding me of what day it is today. My friend's death anniversary.
I stood up and crouched down on the floor to grab the small box underneath the bunk bed, which contains my belongings. I opened the lid and the antique silver watch shining against the sunlight greeted me. It's his gift for me before he died. It's been a long time since I last saw it 'cause I never touched it again after what happened that night.
I run my fingers on the watch. With furrowed eyebrows, I accidentally pressed a button at the back and watch as the precaution of the hand stop from motioning. I shrugged and placed it under my bed before leaving.
"Good morning, people-" I stiffened the moment I left the cell. The scenery before me made my nerves tense in fright.
I looked towards the prisoners who seems like they were struck by Medusa. Majority of them are in a running position, few were just leaving their cells, and some are in the middle of a chitchat with their mouths hanging open.
What the h*ck?!
WHY IS EVERYONE FROZEN?
"H-Hey, can you hear me?" I waved my hand in front of the Prison Guard, but he stood still with the whistle against his mouth and palm facing on the side- unmoving.
This can't be!
Many questions sprouted up in my thoughts, but there's one question that still lingers insistently in my mind:
Am I the one who stopped the time?!
I tried not to freak out, even though my body was trembling in the possibility that everything that was happening could be real. Is this a dream? I'm pretty sure that my state right now is enough to drive me into an asylum.
It was intriguing when I passed by an officer who stumbled upon a running prisoner. His coffee spilled onto the air, but since the time had stop, it was left solid in the atmosphere. Some may view it fascinating, but now that I'm seeing it on clear display, it was a nightmare.
I thought it was only a hallucination, but it's real! As it seems, everyone's not moving!
After a few minutes of wandering around, I stood lonely and cold in the middle of the prison. Silence was my sole company there. Still feeling lost, I gradually run my orbs around.
In a sudden, while my arms are on the side, feet standing straight and eyes staring at nowhere, I suddenly heard noises.
I tensed and broke up in a cold sweat.
Is somebody here with me?!
Wait, time stopped. Hypothetically, I'm the only person who can move. I dropped the idea that someone might be here, but I reconsidered the thought for the second time when I heard the same noise-
Just like someone's walking.
My eyes widened when I saw a silhouette appearing, until the figure was revealed. When our eyes met, we were both remained speechless. Hell, we could barely even believe it's true.
Our eyes never part ways, trying to pull it into focus with our bodies lock up. While we're both in the verge of insanity, we uttered the next two words at the same time,
