He kissed me swiftly on the cheek and I could sense him smelling my hair.

Luckily I had washed it today or he wouldn't have smiled afterwards.

"You know what?" I said quietly, not daring to speak too loud because neither his parents nor mine knew about me being here.

"No, tell me" he whispered and pulled me higher up his chest so I could look him into the eyes.

"I have to think about how we met constantly. I don't know why, though" I frowned, him kissing my nose.

"I don't know why you think about it but I replay our conversations so often in my head too, thinking about what I could have done differently to get you to like me faster" he grinned.

looong flashback

It was my first day of high school in LA.

I had just moved here from the east coast and I knew literally nobody except for my family and my auntie Sandra.

I was shaking all over, not knowing what to expect.

For this rather special occasion I had put on a dress, dark blue with white little dots as to make my blue eyes come out better.

In my imagination the girls all wore skirts or dresses and the boys at least shirts but as I had to find out really quickly I was completely wrong.

Swaetpants where ever you looked and messy buns, huge over-sized baseball sweaters that looked as if their grandparents had had them for years...

This was certainly not what I expected.

I stepped into the yellow hallway and saw people looking at me weirdly, hurrying in and out of rooms, chattering.

No one seemed to take any notice of me except for the puzzled expressions; probably directed to my unsusual outfit for I had even my hair in loose bach waves.

I went straight to the directorate, hoping to get some instructions on where to go and which one of those thousands of lockers was mine.

Just as I wanted to step in a tall dark-haired guy came out of it, looking annoyed.

I bumbed into him and he looked down at me, saying "Can't you look where you're going, girl?"

"Well, you should watch out better too, then" I threw back.

I was already pissed because I was so overdressed and now this inflated dick-head tried to challenge me.

I was usually the brightest kid but only when I was comfortable - and I was certainly not comfortable here.
