He didn't turn around until we reached a door which he swung open.
"Sorry, but I had to show her around" Niall said and pointed at me.
I felt like a new member of a group of anonymous alcoholics for they all just stared at me and some muttered hi.
"Oh, hello my dear" the teacher was tall and almost bald but he wore a kind smile and shook my hand enthusiastically.
"You can sit over there, next to Mister Harry Styles. He could need some help in maths" he showed me to an empty chair right next to the tall guy who ran into me earlier that day.
He didn't seem too pleased with the seating arrangement but neither was I so we had something in common, at least.
"You again" he whispered and tapped his finders onto his desk.
"Yes, it's me. Do you have a problem with that?" I asked derisive.
"I won't answer that question" he replied and stared at the front.
"Well, it was a rethorical question. It wasn't ment to be answered" I spat.
Obviously that boy hadn't gotten the point of questions such as these.
He simply rolled his eyes and I used the time to take out my math things.
I could see Niall sitting next to a short brunette, both laughing and and talking excitedly.
I didn't know why but this sight shot kind of a sharp pain through me.
During the class Harry and I didn't exchange a single word but as we packed our things we accidentally grabbed for the same pencil.
Our hands brushed swiftly and I twitched as this touch had given me a prickling sensation in the pit of my stomach.
"That one is mine" I said but took back my hand nevertheless.
"No, it's not" he seizd it and just swung his backpack over his shoulder without another word.
"That was a good lesson. Keep going Miss Lacbee" the teacher, Mister Cullum, walked up to me.
"Thank you sir" I said, quite unsure as to what to do.
"There's no need to call me sir" he chuckled. "But I would appreciate it very much when you could help Harry a bit. He really isn't good at this. I'll talk to him but as I saw it you two were getting along well"
I snorted. Well, then he hadn't looked at us very often.
"Of course" I replied anyway.
"That would be great" he nodded and I took it as a sign to leave.
Outside the room I noticed that I had no clue whatsoever where to go and just stood there, looking left and right.
"Oh, here's your schedule. I forgot to give it to you" Niall was suddenly in front of me holding a crinkled paper.
"Wow, thanks" I said and took it with raised eyebrows.
And this time it was me just leaving him behind. I must say that I was proud of myslef.
History.
Brilliant.
I checked out where to go and found the room astonishingly quick.
I went straight to the desk of the teacher, a woman this time, and she greeted me with kindness.
I was seated next to a slightly taller dark-haired girl. She was really pretty but had kind of stern look.
She was wearing a pair of jeans and a blouse which made me more comfortable immediately.
"Hey, I'm Lauren" she said and grinned at me.
"Lis. Nice to meet you. Actually it's Elisabeth but Lis is okay" I replied her smile.
"Yeah, pleasure. I think it's so cool what you're wearing" she awed and looked at my dress.
"Thank you" I sighed with relief. Now I could be way more relaxed.
"I would wear that too but everyone is in joggers so I wear jeans at least. Well, you see some in jeans too but only a few. And there are the cheer leaders who have short skirts on all the time. I feel like it's their symbol"
I liked her at once.
She was normal and not as arrogant as the two boys I had met.
"We could open a dress and bow squad" I laughed and she joined in.
"Not a bad idea actually" Lauren reflected.
"But you don't want to endure these looks, I'm sure" I said giggling.
"True" she nodded. "Have you met anyone yet?"
"Do you count Harry and Niall?" I pulled a face and I was happy to see that she rolled her eyes.
"I'm sorry that you had to put up with them on your first day. They are kind of the rebels of our school today with three others and every girl loves them" she shook her head.
Obviously she didn't love them.
"You know, I normally like 'bad boys' and stuff and they are so my type but I don't know. There's just something about them" I stared out of the window where there were two squirrels fighting over a nut.
"I can understand you but -" she was shut by the teacher and whispered on "but they are so full of themsleves that you'll hardly get the chance to talk to them unless you are a cheer leader"
I scribbled down typical on the edge of my block so she could read it.
Lauren nodded approvingly and then we both went back to the lesson which turned out better that I had expected.
Looking around I saw that Harry shared this class with me too but he sat at the opposite side.
He glanced at me too and as our eyes met I turned back to the front.
Totally me. Everytime I had eyecontact I had to brake it. I couldn't stand to look at someone so intendly.
At the end of the class I stood up to pack my things into my bag but I had hardly raised from my seat as Harry ran into me - again.
I felt him brush my waist and sensed a prickling feeling in my stomach.
"Sorry" he said but didn't look at me.
Before he went out to the hallway though he turned round and smirked at me.
"What was that about" said Lauren bewildered, frowning.
"Don't ask me" I shrugged and continued to get ready for break.
