Christopher

- the test -

Married at 18 and first baby at 20 definitely was not have Eddie and Buck wanted things to go.

And yet, here was Eddie, standing in their bathroom, staring at the two lines, the ultrasound pictures and the 'best dad ever' Father's Day card, his first one. Every time he looked at the objects it reminded him that this wasn't some sort of weird dream, reminded him that he was actually going to have a son

He was leaving in the army in the morning, unsure if he'd ever return to see his wife and meet his son, Christopher.

He was scared, that's why he enlisted. To get away. Escape. Run. Did that make him a bad father? He wasn't sure. It's not like he didn't love his son and wife, he did, he was just... terrified of the future. He was happy that Evan was happy, and that she was too busy trying to do what she's been trying to do ever since she first took the tests four and a half months ago, try and find her sister Maddie to tell her she was going to be an auntie, because he knew the way his face currently was would make her feel guilty for being so excited about her mini superman, and he hated the thought of her feeling guilty for something he knows she's wanted since she was little.

So he kept quiet. And he left for the army.

- the calls -

The calls had been a lot tougher to get through then he thought they'd be, missing his little kicks, barely seeing her bump, not going to any appointments, not being there to set up the nursery with buck like he knew she wanted.

But he was providing. He's helping. That's what he keeps telling himself whenever he thinks about the possibility that the only way he'd come back would be in a coffin.

Then, once Christopher was born, he could only return home for two days before leaving again. And that was even harder, going home before Evan and Christopher even had the chance to leave the hospital.

But he's working. He's making money to help support his family.

So then when he comes home for a week when Christopher is six months old, why is Evan so mad? He's not a deadbeat dad that never sees his kid and only pays child support, he's risking his life to provide his family, he's able to speak to them once a week for at least an hour, he's not a bad guy!

Until he is.

During that week he's home, Buck gets pregnant. Another boy, Dylan.
