I can hear Badr and Edon whispering but I pay them no mind. My sole attention is on the little one crying in my arms. She's been crying for a while now, it's almost as if she's releasing all her pent up emotions. Which very well could be true since she carries a hard exterior.
I've been excited to see her in little space and take care of her. However, not like this. Not when Badr particularly forced her to, when he knew we planned to take it at her pace. So that she'd be comfortable and allow herself to show us that part of her.
"Malysh, there's no need to cry. You're gonna make yourself sick if you carry on. How about that movie, hm?"
She nodded her head while hiccups escaped her lips along with some tears rolling down her cheeks.
"What'd you like to watch?"
"Pčelac Beri Medić."
"I'm gonna take a guess, I feel like I know what you said."
A opened up Netflix and clicked on the Bee Movie, as it started playing I looked down at Mila again. She snuggled into my chest more with a smile on her face as her eyes were glued to the screen.

Half way in and she was already asleep. I'm guessing her tears exhausted her out. Badr left to get the food that arrived before appearing again and telling us to come eat in the kitchen. I detangled Mila's body from mine and lay her gently on the pillows, adding one beside her to cuddle. We need to get her a teddy.
I walk into the kitchen. Silence. If I'm being honest, I hate it; I hate not being on good terms with them.
"Right, we're fixing this. We're gonna forget this but you are going to apologise to her and make it up to her. Now we're gonna go back to being the happy family we are. Got it?"
They both looked at me shocked, mainly B that I've spoken to him in this way, but it had to be done.
I walk to my seat happily and started eating the Chinese B had ordered.
I could see in my peripheral vision Badr's clenched jaw and narrowed eyes but he kept his mouth shut. He knows I'm right.

We return to Mila and sit besides her again. Her thumb is in her mouth and her arm is clutching the pillow next to her. She's been asleep for nearly two hours now.
"You gonna wake her up?" Edon asks.
"Yeah, she must be hungry and I don't want her having a headache or be unable to sleep later."
"You reckon she'll still be little?" Badr speaks this time.
"Guess we'll see," I say as I move closer towards her. I brush my fingers through her soft hair with one hand and the other lightly shakes her. "Wake up chérie."
She whines and turns away from me, earning chuckles from the two idiots behind me. "No, no, come back here or I'll tickle you again." I lightly tickle her, I definitely don't want a grumpy little on my hands. Though I'm sure the other two wouldn't mind.
"I'm up! I'm up!"
"Yet your eyes are still shut."
"Too bright."
"We're particularly covered in blankets, baby, it's not that bright."
She groans in annoyance.
"Are you not hungry, little one?" Edon asks her.
"Eat here?"
"Nope, can't have you making a mess," Badr's stern voice made her freeze and pout.
"Are you still mad at me, sir?"
I frown and pull her closer to me, "He isn't mad."
"He sounds mad."
Edon laughs, "That's just how he usually sounds." He leans closer to us and starts whispering. "He's a grumpy pants."
Mila giggles and adds while still whispering, "And a meanie head."
Now all of us laughed in our little circle excluding Badr.
"He was very mean before wasn't he? I think he deserves some time out, what'd you say?" I ask her. Me and Edon both nodding and whispering 'yeah'.
She looks at him and points. "Time out! Corner and no moving. Hmph!" Her voice sounds like she's in little space just slightly older than earlier. So far my guess of her age range is 2-5. But it's still too early to tell.
Badr looks at her then us. "You heard the lady, time out," I tell him with a grin.
Edon adds, "Yeah, you've been a very naughty boy. Go!"
I can tell Edon's having trouble keeping composure and I'd be lying if I wasn't holding back a smile.
Reluctantly, Badr gets into the corner. Whatever price me and Edon are going to have to pay later is so worth it.
Mila insists we watch him to make sure he doesn't move and so give the lady what she wants.
"How long should he be punished for, chérie?"
"Hmm, half an hour will do!" She smiles at us, proud of her choice.
"Make it an hour," Edon chimes in.
"Hour it is." Mila confirms and watches him like a hawk.
An hour passes by, Badr stood still while facing the wall. I wonder what he's thinking. Within that time, Mila was fed and is back to relaxing in my arms with her legs on Edon's lap.
"Hour is up, you're free to move once you apologise to Mila." Edon speaks first.
Badr turns around and looks Mila in the eye, his as dark as the shadows and hers as bright as a jade gem glistening in the light. "I'm sorry, Mila, I had no right pushing you until you broke. I'll make it up to you, I promise, but for the time being will you please forgive me?"
"You're forgiven," she grins and opens her arms. "Cuddles?"
He smiles and gratefully accepts her offer. We watch as she gives him aftercare. This is how we balance out our relationship. Mila could've picked for him to do 50 laps or be her personal chef and he would've accept. He knew he hurt her and went to far and was willing to right his wrongs.
Although, I have a feeling he won't be so kind to us.
