There was a time when Angels and Demons lived in harmony with humanity. They could live in the same streets, become friends, become lovers... But long ago that was. When the war emerged, everything was flipped upside down. No one knows how the war came to be, but soon word began to spread. The Demons and Angels were fighting with each other. People began to see less and less of the two. Until one day, it was brought to humanity's attention.
"Humans of Zaprus! This comes to you as your one and only warning! You either side with Angels, or you side with your deaths!" The man who stood above the scared citizens showed off his blood stained white wings.
The kingdom couldn't handle anymore of the battle occurring outside. It was eventually dragged into the kingdom's land, humans were scared for their lives. Demons who had families would come home to find their loved ones massacred. Humans who got caught in crossfire were killed.
The King, who could no longer stand for this, sided with the Angels. Pushing out all Demons that resided in Zaprus. To Assure the alliance held, The King's only daughter was to be married to the Angel General, General Reed Dia.

"That's your Papa, isn't it Miss Ume?" A young girl with her hair in two pigtails looked up to me.
"Yes he is, Emi." I could see the townsfolk walking past the town square. This was a normal routine of mine, sitting at the fountain with children sitting around me. I'd read them stories from my favorite fairy tales. Parents who had to take care of shopping or other important matters, would leave them to me to babysit them for a short time. I didn't mind, I loved telling stories. Sometimes I would tell the children of how Zaprus came to be, I did this because I noticed that nobody seemed to talk about it anymore. Growing up, I was always made aware about the dangers of Demons, but I never believed it to be true. They wouldn't just snap out of nowhere, something happened that the humans were never told.
"Emi, are you ready to go home?" Emi's mother returned from her shopping.
"Yes Mommy! Thank you Miss Ume!" I could see Emi waving goodbye as her mother thanked me quickly and left.
'I guess I should head back. Mother is planning a banquet tonight, and I know how she can be when I'm late.' Brushing myself off as I got off the fountain, I made my way home. The shops were preparing to close up for the night. People waved to me as I passed them, I waved back of course.
I saw the castle, it always felt odd calling a castle my home.
As I approached the stairs up, I noticed my sister standing in front of the huge double doors.
"Ume! There you are. Mom is going crazy already! Let's get you inside and in some nice clothes before she notices." She ushered me inside. My sister and I were very different in appearance. She was taller than me despite me being older than her by a year. She is very thin too.
It was brought to my attention that my sister and I don't look anything alike. I have dark brown hair when she has blonde, her eyes were blue when mine were green. It just didn't add up, my mother had blonde hair and blue eyes too.
"Are you just going to stand there?" We reached my room while I was lost in thought. I opened the dark colored door to my room.
"Yea sorry Maiya, I'll get dressed quickly." Shutting the door quickly once she turned around, I ran to my closet to find a nice dress. I only wear dresses for formal gatherings. Unlike Maiya, I wore black shorts and a button up shirt for the majority of the time.
In the back of my closet, there was a long ball gown dress.
"I know this dress! I thought mom threw it away..." It was perfect. Father had gotten this dress made just for me. It had a white long bell sleeve button up shirt, a light brown corset, and a royal purple skirt. What made this dress so special was the skirt, it could easily unclip to get taken off revealing black shorts underneath. Father had this made for me because I always had an interest in sword fighting. I would join him when he trained new soldiers for battle. I was never the best but I did have a lot of fun.
I did end up forming close friendships with the trainees. This alone had a lot of benefits, you see I have a tendency to sneak out. So if I were to get caught, I was usually let go.
"I haven't seen this in awhile. I'll wear it tonight." I felt the silky fabric of the skirt on my fingertips as I pulled it from the back, closing the walk in closet door. I laid the dress down on my bed and made sure the door was locked before I began to undress from my everyday clothes.
I could feel the gaze of eyes on me. "Who's there?" I turned around to see a shadow quickly disappear from my balcony. 'Maybe...it's just my eyes playing tricks on me?' I quickly got dressed and smoothed my hair out.
"Ume! Hurry! Mom is on her way!" I heard Maiya on the other side of my door. Quickly I unlocked the door and let her in. She had gotten changed too. She was now wearing a white and pink ball gown. "I guess we had similar ideas."
"No kidding." We giggled to ourselves until we heard knocking on the door. Our mother opened it up, seeming to be prepared to yell at me for not being prepared.
"Oh, you're already done. Good, be ready to come down stairs for the banquet. We will be having important guests so please, do not embarrass me." She looked at the two of us before closing the door behind her. I turn my attention to Maiya. "Well, should we head down then?"
"Yea, let's go."
(Short first chapter, but things will be picking up soon ;3)
